The Alchemist is an important craftsperson you will use from the start of the game up to and during the end game.
Which Services Do Alchemists Provide?
- Craft Elixirs and Incense
- Transmute materials into other materials
- Craft Lair Boss Keys
How Do I Craft Elixirs?
Elixirs are a great way to boost stats and increase the rate at which you earn experience points.
Many of them are crafted by an Alchemist and will require you to collect Crafting Materials out in the world from bushes and slaying monsters. They can also drop as rewards and some can be purchased from the Dark Citadel Vendor.
- Can have 1 Elixir active at the same time.
- Last 30 minutes and persist through death.
- Most affect only you.
- Can consume Elixirs whilst Crowd Controlled.
- You can have up to 3 Incense active at the same time.
- Buffs from both your Elixir and Incense can stack but the Experience buff from any Elixir you have active will only stack with the Experience buff from a single Incense.
- Most can be traded with other players.
- Full list of Elixirs, including those the Alchemist can not craft.

How Do I Craft Incense?
Incense are a great way to boost stats and increase the rate at which you earn experience points.
Many of them are crafted by an Alchemist and will require you to collect Crafting Materials out in the world from bushes and slaying monsters. Some can be purchased from the Dark Citadel Vendor.
- Can have 1 Incense from each of the 3 categories active at the same time
- They last 30 minutes and persist through death
- They affect you and nearby players (grouped or ungrouped)
- Buffs stack with any Elixir you have active and Incense burned by other nearby players (grouped or ungrouped)
- The 5% Experience bonus from Incense doesn’t stack with bonuses from other Incense, whether used by you or nearby players. However, it does stack with the Experience bonus granted by an active Elixir.
- Some can be traded with with other players.
- Full list of Incense including those the Alchemist can not create.
There are 3 categories of Incense:
- Core Stat Incense
- Defensive Incense
- Resistance Incense
- The Incense available from the Vendor in the Dark Citadel are not crafted but purchased with Citadel Coins earned whilst completing the Dark Citadel.

How Do I Make Lair Keys?
Lair Boss Keys are items needed to open the Lair Boss Hoard (Loot Chest) after defeating the Lair Boss. They are not physical keys but simply a consumable item required to access the hoard’s rewards.
- Lair Boss Keys drop in End Game activities such as Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, Whispers, World Bosses and Legion Events.
- They can be crafted at the Alchemist.
- If in a group each player needs their own Key.
- Stack up to 100.
