Gold is the basic currency as it was in the previous games in the series.
Acquiring Gold
Gold can be found just about everywhere. Everything from drops from monsters to chests and quest rewards. This inckudes:
- Killing monsters
- Completing Quests
- Completing Dungeons
- Completing Cellars
- Opening Chests
- Treasure Goblins
- Corpse looting
Gold is in abundance which means costs of respeccing skills can be expensive at higher levels and therefore should be collected at any opportunity.
Uses for Gold
Gold is essential for all main crafting activities in Diablo 4. Everything costs a certain amount of gold as well as materials at vendors. It's also used for skill respeccing.

Gold Indicator
Gold does not take up any inventory space and is simply stored as a number which can be found on the main character screen below the main inventory.
Picking up and farming Gold
Gold is automatically picked up by the player as they pass nearby and pile of dropped gold.
Just about every reward in the game is going to come with a certain amount of gold, the same goes for completed actions such as killing monsters or tackling dungeons. Farming it is not going to be a huge problem, after all, it is the game's main currency and it's easy to pick up as you adventure.
Trading gold
Gold can be traded between players.
