Diablo 4 Battle Pass could be changing

Are improvements coming? Rod is not keen on the current system

Changes could be afoot with the Diablo 4 Battle Pass according to Rod Fergusson.

Speaking to Game File about Diablo 4, Rod describes battle passes as “an antiquated system now”. He added, “There are different ways to gamify and to give the players more agency. So I think what I would say is, watch this space for us. I think we’re going to be introducing some interesting things.”

Rod also mentioned he enjoys the system used in Call of Duty MW2 and MW3 that allows the player to seek out the rewards that are a priority to them instead of players having to work their way through multiple tiers. That would certainly shake things up is such a system were implemented.

Nothing has been mentioned about changes to the Battle Pass in recent weeks or ahead of the upcoming campfire chat later this week, and it could be something planned a lot further down the line. We have a development roadmap coming in April before Season 8 starts and perhaps we’ll hear more about any proposed changes then.

In the same interview, Rod also touches on cosmetics, stating he would like to see more “flamboyant” items and crossovers when it comes to future cosmetics additions. As long as huge World of Warcraft shoulder pads are never included we’ll be happy.
