Season 9 launches next week, and while we’ve seen the roadmap for upcoming Seasons, there are more substantial Diablo 4 changes afoot.
After the dev chat at the end of the week, Blizzard’s Adam Fletcher hit the socials with a tease.
“Just know, that your warcries of wanting more change aren’t going unnoticed. The team has been cooking on some of the biggest changes that really hit home on things people have been asking for and more. We will share more as we get closer.”
Blizzard often gets criticised for not “listening” to the community when it asks for changes, but implementing those changes does take time. Making games is not easy. For example, Loot Reborn was a main Season theme simply because it fundamentally changed loot. It was a substantial update. Can we expect something similar to that? Only time will tell, but it may not happen until next year based on the current Season timeline.
Too little, too late.
They’re promising it for two years now… We basically got a badly designed game where they keep on promising “they listen to our feedback”, but keep on making the same mistakes over, and over, and over again for 9 seasons now.
Blizz has a “creative vision” that’s far away from player’s expectations. They can’t get the balance between various builds right, they can’t even control the achievable PC damage output in their game. They keep on planning big changes based on “one day we’ll release an expansion, and maybe we’ll address some of the things people are asking for in mass”, and when the expansion finally arrives, it’s a huge dissapointment, like the Vessel of Hatred was.
It’s more important to the dev team to keep on reinventing seasonal mechanics that are bugged for the first half of the season and are later discarded either way than to actually keep on cumulatively improving the game. It’s also clear that Blizz puts more effort into paid skins priced like a whole freaking game, than they actually do to design proper gameplay experience.
I don’t understand how they could went so wrong with a game with otherwise huge potential.
Please add local coop to PC….PoE2 has this feature on PC…why doesn’t Diablo 4??? Big miss by Blizzard…
