There’s been a flurry of news today for the Vessel of Hatred expansion so let’s take a minute to go over all the information.
In the description of what’s coming up in the expansion and has been confirmed today, we have the following…
- New Spiritborn class
- New region of Nahantu (see maps)
- Recruitable Mercenaries (see below)
- New monsters
- New Dungeons
- New Paragon Boards
- New Legendary Glyphs
- New Tree of Whispers Activities
- A new PvE co-op challenge (raids?) in a new “multifaceted dungeon”.
- Base game updates that will introduce new power
- Pets that can pick up materials and gold
Looking at everything that’s coming, it’s practically a new compile game that warrants the preorder price tags.
The Mercenaries look interesting based on the first shot we have. Note the small chap at the front has bird-like feet and we have a ranger and what could be two melee-class mercenaries. The merc on the right appears to be sporting Barb-like tattoos. Hopefully we’ll hear more about the mercs soon and how they fit into the lore.

On pets, let’s take a look at the some of ones we have seen in the pre-order information.

October 8th can’t come soon enough. Blizzard has been smashing it out of the park with the recent updates and what appears to be some great expansion content.
We’ll be hot on the case of all the news as it happens for VoH and the Diablo 4 section is continually expanding week on week. We’ll be adding in all the new information as soon as posisble.

I wonder what the little mercenary is at the front. He has bird feet.
I thought bird boy was a Satyr but they’re half man/goat. I can’t find anything from mythology with bird legs but bird boy is definitely magic.
I think the merc on the right could be a witch doctor of sorts, native to Nahantu?
They aren’t very dark. What happened to the “darkness of diablo 2”??
I don’t think a big cat mount suit Sanctuary, looks like a left over from WoW.
Is that a Barbarian mercenary with a shield? Isn’t that a good idea.
That is a Paladin because of the cross on the shield.
