Remember a time when we were all playing Diablo 3 but hankered after the good old days of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2? Blizzard threw us a sort of bone with The Darkening of Tristram event in Diablo 3.
Once again the Darkening of Tristram returns and this year it’s on 31 December / 3 January. It may have less appeal than in previous years thanks to D2R but it’s still a fun event to take a break from Diablo 4 or D2R and dive onto D3 again,
The event recreates the aesthetics of Diablo 2 in a 16-level dungeon crawl starting at The Old Ruins and there are a few goodies up for grabs including the Butcher Pet. You can check out our full Darkening of Tristram guide for more about what to expect.
The Darkening of Tristram Event Times
The cultists will appear on December 31 at 4 p.m. PST, and the portal opens January 3 at the same hour. Both parts of the event end on January 31 at 4 p.m. PST.
