Blizzard has just held a discussion on upcoming changes for Diablo 4 Season 5 following the recent PTR test.
With Season 5 happening on 6 August, it’s just around the corner and there’s a little time for Blizzard to fine-tune the next season. So what’s coming up? Here’s a quick run-down on what to expect.
- Mindcage is being added to the game permanently.
- Angel Breath is not required for Enchanting
- World Tier 1 & 2 only 2 Baneful Hearts required for Blood Maiden. Drop rate tweaks.
- Pit Boss debuffs to remain
- All Uniques are getting affix changes.
- Infernal Hordes Compass drop rate has been increased.
- And lots more…
DontheCrown has popped up a sheet of all the noted changes before they appear in official notes but keep in mind we may still see more changes prior to Season 5 going live. You can also watch his recap of the changes he’s noted down from the chat below the sheet.

What is this fixation on simplifying everything?
No, it doesn’t take too long to complete the Grim Favors.
Now they’re going to put the Grim Favor tasks in a small area of an already concentrated Helltide zone so players don’t have to move around as much. What’s more, a Favor activity can now fill the entire Grim Favor slot in one go!
Where’s the journey?
Every change seems to be designed to get you to the end game and the grind for the Mythics asap.
In the campfire chats Blizzard said “The Devs want players to level quickly so that they can have fun in the endgame as soon as possible.”
Why? Why can’t we have fun on the journey too seeing as everything is relative?
Average Crowd Control duration reduced on the player 2.5 -> 1.5 seconds
The player can now use their potion while crowd controlled
I’ll take that. That will have a bigger impact that people might think.
