Adam Jackson departs Blizzard is not a headline I was expecting to write this week as he’s become such a familiar face thanks to his Campfire Chat appearances. After 16 years at Blizzard, he’s calling it a day.
Adam posted on social media:
What a long, strange trip it’s been. After 15 years at Blizzard Entertainment it’s finally time to say goodbye. I have so many great memories here. It’s incredibly bittersweet to close this door, but I’m excited for the future and can’t wait to get started on my next adventure
Adam has had quite a journey and influence on Diablo 4’s development starting as a Senior Game Designer in 2021, becoming Lead Class Designer in 2022, and concluding his journey as Lead Live Designer which included Seasons and expansions.
Diablo 4 has certainly had its ups and downs since launch and the Seasons have, well to put it bluntly, been real hit and miss affairs since the original game launched. How Adam’s departure from Blizzard will affect Diablo 4 remains to be seen but he will be missed on those campfire chats with his honest opinions on the state of the game.
Adam doesn’t say where he’s heading next but we wish him well on his next “adventure”.
