Today’s dev stream was a Mid-Season 6 Dev update. There will be patch notes later in the week for these changes and another chat is still to come.
With the Thanksgiving weekend coming up in the US, next week’s dev chat takes a look at the Season 7 PTR. This PTR dev update is coming earlier than usual this time thanks to the upcoming holiday. The actual PTR won’t drop until after Thanksgiving.
Season 6 Updates
The Spiritborn has proved popular with 62% of all players having tried the new class. Sure, it’s overpowered in comparison to other classes at the moment but don’t expect any major changes to the class in the upcoming patch. Instead, the other classes will get balance changes even though they are performing well in comparison to each other.
Major spiritborn changes will be coming in Season 7 which will be patch 2.1.0. This update will also see further refinements to itemization and material progression. In other words, slowly but surely we are seeing more improvements with each update.
These incremental changes would bring the game to a good place before any new major content is added to the game. I think we can all agree we had enough major changes in the past 6 months or so with itemization and Vessel of Hatred.
Sample Balance / Class Changes
Below are some of the planned changes coming to the classes. The patch notes later this week will have more updates so this is a taster of what’s to come. Note, there are Spiritborn changes but the changes are only to skills that are being underused by players so they are being buffed.
Runewords
So far Runewords have felt a little underwhelming and I hope at some point these are more fleshed out. That said, changes are coming with buffs to Runewords in this mid-season update.
Shrines
Some changes to Shrines to scale better with the player through all levels including Paragon.
Upcoming Events
There are several in-game events coming up including:
- The return of the Red Cloaked Horror Midwinter Blight Seasonal Event
- Mother’s Blessing is back again soon
- A Welcome Back Booster for returning Eternal players that will include premade builds, three for each class, to get players back into the action faster and all Altars of Lilith will be unlocked.
- Finally, there’s that Season 7 PTR.
Mid Season 6 Wrap-up
This was a short dev stream compared to the last couple but next week’s is going to be longer when they tackle the Season 7 PTR. That’s one you do not want to miss. Also, patch note will be added for the mid-season update here on the PureDiablo and also on the official site as usual.
