Update 2 – 15/10/2024
The patch 2.0.3 notes have now been released. Check them out!
Previous update
We are almost a week into Vessel of Hatred and there’s been tweaks and fixes to the game over the past few days or so. With that in mind, there’s more to come with a full-on Diablo 4 Patch.
Blizzard posted a quick update along with news of a patch that adds more backend logging to help them with PC issues. Expect more on what’s coming on 2.0.3 at the end of the week later today.
The speed that fixes are being pumped out is great and I expect we’ll see some more substantial additions/changes in 2.0.3. Watch this space.
Update
This is a bug as the Spiritborn is able to break animation frames during Evade immediately. We will be fixing this so you won’t be able to Evade instantly during another one, and instead it will be normalized to the standard Evade cast rate in all situations. The reason why we are hitting this bug now (and some may have noticed) is that it is currently impairing other players and their experience in-game.
We have mentioned before that if a build ends up impacting the experience of others, we may make changes immediately, and this is one of those instances. We expect this change to come in 2.0.3 later this week.

Ridiculous. The mechanic is laid out to work with a CDR on evade. So a class we paid good money for if being moaned about by people who didn’t want to pay, and the ones who gave their money to the dev team that continuously f*cker them over are the ones who will have to have their experience dulled down!?! Pathetic.
I played the Spiritborn Evade build, and it was quite clearly overpowered and broken. Thus, I didn’t invest into it. Shame on anyone who did, who then proceeds to complain about the broken thing being nerfed.
I’ll add that you’re making quite a few assumptions, here.
1) The change to Spiritborn Evade builds is being made because people complained
2) The people complaining didn’t buy Vessel of Hatred
3) Blizzard is disingenuous with their response here
4) There is no bug and things are working intended (see 3)
This is very clearly unintentional gameplay. Clearly you disagree, but I’d ask you to show me another class/build in the game that was able to clear as far and fast as Spiritborn Sep Evade build with no investment. I’ll happily wait. (I’ll be waiting a long time, as there are none.)
I’d wager a lot of people felt shoehorned into playing this build so early because of the clear advantage in every aspect of non-competitive gameplay (Pit, etc.) it offered. When that’s the case, things need to change. Choice is healthy for ARPGs (see any season of PoE where a single build absolutely dominated for a lengthy amount of time and check player count for that season)
What upset’s me more is the fact that the game is self is buggy to the point, I can’t even get on the game. It’s frustrating that a large number of us our not being helped after paying money for a buggy mess. You’re all bickering about classes whilst some of us can’t even get on the bloody game. (PS5)
What makes me laugh is that people are arguing about the state of the game and classes when some of us can’t even play the game. Blizzard have made such a buggy mess and plenty of other people have the same frustration I do. Just be happy you can play the game, some of us spent money to sit in blizzards spam email hoping we can get a response for the poor condition of their game. # PS5PLAYERSMATTER
