Diablo 4 development Roadmap is coming according to Blizzard. Running a live service game is not easy but Blizzard has done a pretty decent job with Diablo 4 of it so far. However, we never know what’s coming down the pipe beyond the next Season.
The developer campfire chats have been an excellent way to communicate with the community but they don’t give us the full picture of where the game is heading in the longer term. Season lengths are about right for those who play casually but there are a lot of players who blast through them and move on to something else. A fuller picture of the development plans may keep players more engaged.
World of Warcraft has a development Roadmap that outlines what’s coming up well into the future as you can see from the image below.
It now appears that a similar Roadmap for Diablo 4 will be produced with Adam Fletcher stating that we can, “Expect one soon.”.
I think we can agree it would be a great way to keep the community abreast of upcoming developments, even if some of the Season details end up missing to keep them as a surprise. How detailed the Diablo 4 Roadmap will be remains to be seen but it’s great to see that one is going to be produced.
