BUILD EXPLANATION
Overview:
This Hydra Fireball Sorceress build is primarily a Hydra build, but Fireball is used as a secondary skill to spend mana quickly in order to conjure additional Hydras with the Hydra Enchantment. However, Fireball still deals a good amount of damage on its own.
This endgame build easily clears T-100 NM dungeons and bosses like Duriel, but it is by no means a meta build or highest damage output build. It is mostly for the fun of using Hydra, my favorite skill from D2. The skill tree as it is shown requires a Shako in order to free up additional skill points to put elsewhere, since it gives +4 to everything as a base (specifically, Ice Armor and Meteor are given for free).
Playstyle:
When engaging a mob or boss, put two Hydras down. Then, spam Fireball to deplete mana quickly and raise additional Hydras. With some good Lucky Hit to Restore Primary Resource, and help from the Seneschal, you can use Fireball essentially endlessly. With the Enchantment Master paragon node lowering the mana requirement to 167 and the Conjurer glyph adding 20% duration on top of the Serpentine Aspect duration boost, you will have 4 active Hydras at all times, sometimes 5 for a short period. The usual Sorceress defensive skills are available (Teleport, Frost Nova, Flame Shield, Ice Armor) to use as needed, especially Flame Shield or Ice Armor to remain protected while staying still to spam Fireball.
Hydra is obviously the first Enchantment slot. The other can be switched depending on the current task. Fireball for clearing dungeons or mobs, for the quick clear speed caused by the explosions. For bosses, switch out the second Enchantment to Meteor to get plenty of Lucky Hit procs on the single target.
Essentially all items / paragon nodes / glyphs are used to increase Conjuration skill damage or fire damage generally. This build is still viable without the Uber Uniques of course, and I would suggest replacing them with either Aspect of Three Curses, Elementalist’s Aspect, Aspect of Fortune, Frostblitz Aspect, or Aspect of Disobedience – as you see fit.
Season 3:
The Seneschal is used primarily to bolster your own character, with quick attacks to replenish your mana or amplify your damage.
