On the 29th of June, Diablo 2 will be turning 20. With this special date approaching some members of the community have been trying to tie that date in with a Diablo 2 Resurrected announcement. Think again because Blizzard has commented.
The Diablo new community manager has stepped in before the rumors get out of hand. There’s nothing planned for June as far as announcements are concerned.
We don’t usually comment on rumors, but before this hype train goes off the rails we wanted to clarify that there are no upcoming Diablo announcements in June. The minions of hell are hard at work getting ready for the start of the next Diablo III Season, bringing you the next Diablo IV quarterly update (very) soon™, and we have some fun activities planned around the upcoming 20th anniversary of Diablo II.
Always careful with the wording, Adam doesn’t mention Diablo 2 Resurrected. Is it being made? We’ll have to hang on to a later date or perhaps it isn’t even being developed at all.
With BlizzCon now canceled, they may plan some kind of online event in the future. It’s more likely any announcements would be made then.
