Crackling Energy

Crackling Energy is only available to the Sorcerer. It is a byproduct of using other skills.

Name	Description
Crackling Energy	Crackling Energy periodically damages nearby enemies when picked up.

If you have points in certain active or passive skills orbs of Crackling Energy are generated when killing or damaging an enemy. Walk over these orbs to collect up to 12 and they will display above your experience bar. Each orb fills 3 Crackling Energy slots. If you already have 12 and walk over an orb the orb will disappear but you will still only have 12.

When an enemy comes within range of you the Crackling Energy you have collected will automatically discharge inflicting Shock damage.

The collected Crackling Energy does not expire, it is either discharged on enemies or disappears when you go back to town.

As well as inflicting 20% of your base damage Crackling Energy can conjure a Lightning Spear and increase its damage, provide Mana and reduce the cooldown of your Shock Skills if points are placed in the appropriate skills. Through items its damage can be significantly increased, movement speed can be increased and Lightning Novas can be generated.

Paragon Boards

There is a Paragon Board called Ceaseless Conduit and its Legendary Node provides:

"Crackling Energy has a 25% chance to not consume a Charge when triggered. Crackling Energy's damage is increased by x 3% per 20 total Intelligence you have".

Picking up Crackling Energy grants you x5% increased damage for 5 seconds, up to x15%.

Description: Crackling Energy now gains 10% [x] damage for every level in Shock Skills you have equipped and enemies hit have a 5% chance to refund a charge. Upon reaching maximum Crackling Energy , you rapidly unleash all charges on the closest enemy to you dealing [40 - 80]% [x] increased damage. You cannot gain charges from hits while rapidly discharging.
