2020 has been one of the strangest years in living memory thanks to the COVID pandemic with so many industry events being canceled or moved online. BlizzCon is no exception and today Blizzard has announced BlizzCon Online will take place in February next year.
BlizzCon moves online next year taking place between February 19–20, 2021. Many of you usually don’t get to attend the show so there won’t be much of a change because you’ll be watching the event being streamed. Blizzard has outlined some of the community related events that will be taking place such as cosplay, art, and even the March of the Murlocs. All of this will be happening virually.
As the event get closer no doubt we’ll hear more about what will be shown as faras games are concerned. Obviously there won’t be the usual plethora of hands-on impressions we usually see but that’s a small price to pay when it comes to keeping people safe.
As this is a replacement for the 2020 event, we don’t yet know if a 2021 live event will take place if the pandemic gets under control or a vaccine is developed before the end of next year. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
If you want to take part in any of the community events, then head to this page, read the rules and follow the instructions.
