Diablo 4 Level 72 Rogue Takes Down Uber Lilith!

Mewfassah achieves the impossible in Diablo 4 by taking down Lilith with his Level 72 Rogue.

EchoOfLilith001

As an astonishing encore to our Diablo 4 Streamer Profile, the amazing Mewfassah has done it again by achieving what was thought by many to be the impossible when he recently defeated the Uber Echo of Lilith with his Level 72 Rogue.

Now I know what you’re probably thinking, which is that we saw similar feats of strength last Season with the Ball Lightning Sorcerer and HOTA Barbarian. However, this is quite a different animal altogether, because Mewfassah accomplished this totally legitimate kill while having zero Uber Uniques equipped and without taking advantage of any exploits, such as the Weapon Mastery Crossbow bug, or the Ball Lightning damage calculation bug from Season 2.

If that wasn’t enough, the Phase 2 floor mechanics have become fixed as of the beginning of Season 3, which means no more wearing down Lilith as much and as fast as you can at the beginning of Phase 2. No matter what you do, the Blood Boils will spawn and the Fireballs must be dodged in order to avoid getting one-shotted.

So, do you think you have what it takes to match Mewfassah’s achievement? Fortunately for us, he’s shared his detailed strategy guide below:

Preparation

Ensure you go into the fight with a calm mind and understand that you may not get it immediately the first time you go in. Lilith has a lot of one-shot mechanics in her fight and there is no easy solution around this, other than getting the Melted Heart of Selig to drop from Duriel.

So, how do you prepare for one-shot mechanics that are quite difficult to avoid? All I can say is plenty of practice through trial and error. Knowing how your class operates is also very important to be successful in a fight with a boss like the Echo of Lilith:

  • Mobility
  • Damage (burst or steady)
  • Familiarity with Immunity Skills
  • Knowing how high your defenses need to be in order to survive the fight mechanics.

The most important thing I must encourage is to make sure your movement speed is at or above 145%, because the Fireballs during Phase 2 move at around that speed. Therefore, you need the speed in order to outrun those objects. Again, this can be circumvented by equipping the Melted Heart of Selig where you can spam health potions and get hit by one or two of them. However, getting that Uber Unique amulet may require many hours, if not days, of grinding Duriel, which you’re unlikely to accomplish before your character reaches Level 72.

Phase 1

During the first phase of the fight, you will have to deal with the waves of spikes that Lilith summons, which will almost certainly one-shot you if you get hit by them! The solution to this is to ensure you are positioned on the edge of the circle at all times when the waves are about to spawn and then dash into a run to the opposite side of the circle. This strategy works 95% of the time. Very rarely have I had an issue where that wasn’t the case.

Taking the mobs down separately, versus all together, is also important because when they die they spawn Blood Boils. Bood Boils will kill you instantly when they explode, and there is no way around that, unfortunately. However, by managing the adds appropriately during the first phase you can easily manage all of the Blood Boils and never have an issue keeping them under control.

Phase 2

Once you get Lilith down to 0% in Phase 1, the second phase begins. This is by far the hardest part of the fight, especially if you do not have a way of nuking her health down quickly. Outside of the constant running, there’s Lilith’s ability of crowd controlling you into an instant death slam and other abilities that, well, just seem unfair. The platform keeps getting smaller as she reaches certain points, there are areas of the platform that you can’t stand on, and the Fireballs that want nothing more than to just give you a hug and kill you.

routesTo get through this phase you need to utilize unstoppable abilities, movement speed, and space management. The image to the right is an actual map that shows the running routes you should attempt to aim for when running from the Fireballs during this phase.

If you end up having to endure each portion of Lilith’s fight, as well as deal with her pull-ins, then you need to ensure that your abilities that make you Unstoppable are readily available. If not, then there is a high chance you will be pulled into a Fireball and, even if that doesn’t happen, you’ll still have a hard time getting out of her ground slam.

What’s more, during this portion is when you have to watch for an attack that slashes the ground and requires you to keep moving in order to avoid getting hit. Generally, it’s best to avoid this portion if possible, but if you can’t then just understand that you’ll need to practice it more in order to become more familiar with the pattern.

I wish everyone luck and I’ll conclude by saying that, “No matter how many times you die, understand that it is a moment where you learned something about either your class or the fight.” Keep a cool head, breathe, and try your best relax.
