What is the Seneschal Construct?
The Seneschal Construct is a companion added to Diablo 4 for Season 3: Season of the Construct. This companion functions in a similar way to Mercenaries in Diablo 2 and Followers in Diablo 3.
This Construct will grow with you in power and has many different abilities to complement a player's build. This power scaling is one-to-one with the player so it feels like an extension of the player.
Once you’ve acquired your Seneschal, they’ll follow you everywhere in Sanctuary until Season of the Construct ends. They can not be killed but they can be staggered.
Where can I get the Seneschal Construct?
During the Season 3 questline, players will find a broken Seneshal which will be repaired by Ayuzhan and becomes your companion.
How to customise the Seneschal Construct
The Seneschal Construct's abilities are dicated by the Tuning and Governing Stones which player acquire in the Season 3 questline or from drops.
Governing Stones which are the primary effect Core Construct ability can be picked up in the questline of Season 3.
Tuning Stones which augment the Governing Stones, are acquired through the Seasonal content. It's s single modification for any number of Governing Stones.
- The player can add 2 different Governing Stones to the Seneschal.
- Each Governing Stone can be modified by up to three Tuning Stones.
The Seneschal can either play a support role or do direct damage.
How to Get Tuning and Governing Stones
- A single random Tuning Stone can be acquired by completing a Vault.
- Governing Stones are acquired through the Seasonal questline.
- There's a lower chance of Tuning Stones and Governing Stones dropping during Arcane Tremors and Vaults. However, Arcane Tremors have proved a quick and effective way to get Tuning Stones.
- Tuning Stones and Governing Stones can also be crafted at the Jeweler.

Changes to Seneschal Constructs

Developer’s Note: We want the Seneschal to feel strong, but there are certain powers that are overperforming. Additionally, there are a couple of unintended interactions that are being addressed.
- Poison Support no longer reapplies the Construct's damage bonuses when it spreads, matching the functionality of the other damage over time Tuning Stones.
- Bonus Bleeding damage from 20% to 10%.
- Bonus Critical Strike damage from 20% to 10%.
- Bonus Critical Strike damage per Skill Rank from 2% to 1%.
- Tempest no longer gains bonus damage and duration when it's reapplied or when it spreads.
