Diablo 4 features numerous currencies which are used in different ways in Sanctuary.
Citadel Coin
Citadel Coin is earned whilst playing in the Dark Citadel and is used at the Vendors there to buy items exclusive to that dungeon.
Gold
Gold is the basic currency as it was in the previous games in the series.

Murmuring Obols
Murmuring Obols can be used at the Purveyor of Curiosities and are used for gambling purposes only. Murmuring Obols are acquired by completing events throughout Sanctuary.

Pale Marks
Pale Marks is a currency earned whilst playing with Mercenaries and it's use to buy gear, Trade Agreements and to Barter in the Mercenary Den.
Red Dust
Seeds of Hatred are converted into Red Dust at the Altar of Extraction. It is specifically tied to the end-game and PvP. Red Dust can be redeemed at PvP Cosmetic and Mount Vendors for ornamental rewards.
