What is Vessel of Hatred in PvP?

Party PvP

Players can party in PvP with up to 4 players per group which effectively means players can team battle in the PvP zones.

Hardcore PvP

Players can PvP with hardcore characters but should you die, it is permadeath. Your character is gone forever! Best to partake in HC PvP as a group to be safer.

History of PvP in Diablo

Diablo 2

PvP was most prevalent Diablo 2 where players could join games and partake in PvP duels which usually took place in Act 1. However, while you could PvP, it was never part of story and there were no dedicated PvP zones.

Diablo 3

Blizzard experimented with PvP in Diablo 3 and during development had created PvP arenas which were playable at BlizzCon 2010. According to Blizzard at the time, the PvP was being developed alongside the full game. The mode shown at BlizzCon 2010 was more a team deathmatch experience with a time limit and kill count.

As it transpired, the PvP mode never shipped with release of Diablo 3 leaving many fans disappointed. Instead small level with a brawling mode was added located at the Scorched Chapel via NPC Nek the Brawler.
