The Abattoir of Zir is a Diablo 4 Season 2 content update that was added to the game in patch 1.2.3 which released on 5 December 2023. The content was announced at BlizzCon 2023[1].
What is Abattoir of Zir?
This content is described by Blizzard as a "pinnacle" dungeon experience that gets increasingly hard. Each time the Abattoir of Zir is run, players have a limited time to clear it and defeat the boss. There are a total of 25 tiers to the Abattoir of Zir.
Blizzard has stated that this is incredibly tough at higher tiers.
Players used to running Greater Rifts in Diablo 3 will be familiar with the format.
How will my build perform?
Players who have played the Abattoir of Zir, as well as Blizzard, have commented that you will either need a well optimised build to progress and that the endgame build you are currently running may not manage the higher tiers. Again, this is a very hard end-game experience.
How do you access the Abattoir of Zir?
Players visit the Occultist and craft a Bloodforged Sigil using Sigil Powder. At the Occultist players choose which tier to craft.
The Seasons Journey must be completed to access the Abattoir of Zir.
The entrance is located in Ked Bardu [Map].
What are the rewards?
Usual rewards such as gear, gold, and crafting materials will drop. However the primary goal is to obtain the new unique Glyph Tears of Blood.
What is the Tears of Blood Glyph?
The Tears of Blood unique glyph can be levelled up to 50 and has an increased radius that can effect Rare nodes.
When does the Abattoir of Zir end?
This event is expected to end at the end of Season 2. However, there is always the chance it will either continue in some form or be resurrected at a later date.
