Heavenly Forge
Heavenly Forge is used to Sanctify items

Santification is a new end-game crafting system due to be introduced in Patch 2.5.0 scheduled to be released by the end of 2025.

This is a final roll of the dice and is a one-time, irreversible enchantment. Once the item has been sanctified, it is locked so the item can't be Tempered, Masterworked or Enchanted. You can however, change socketables.

Sanctifying will add one rare transformative bonues but if you're lucky it will add an additional Legendary, Unique or Mythic Power.

To Sanctify you'll need to spend Heavenly Sigils, which you can earn by defeating Bartok, Astaroth or the Exalted Lair Boss Belial. There is a small chance of drops from Belial Ambush, Pit Belial, Elites and Nightmare bosses on Torment difficulty and above.

Heavenly Sigils are also used to teleport to the Heavenly Forge where the Sanctification takes place.

What can Sanctification change on items?

There are a total of five different outcomes when an item in Sanctified.

  1. Add an affix
  2. Add an Aspect
  3. Greater Affix and Affix
  4. Replace an Affix
  5. Remove durability

When you take the plunge there is a % chance one of these five things is going to happen to the item.

Different Approaches to Sanctification

There is a chance that you don't get the Sanctification outcome you want and then you are stuck with the result. There are two ways to approach at this.

  1. Take the gamble and hope for the best with an outcome that improves your item.
  2. Be more cautious. Have multiples of the same item. Take a backup of that same item and Sanctify it. If when Sanctified it's better than the original then sanctify the original and so on. This way you can't really lose out and you have much more powerful version of the item.
