Tempering allows you to add affixes to your Legendary and rare items. Tempering Manuals can randomly drop in World Tier 1 to 4 and each manual offers a list of themed recipes. The Manual goes into your bag and you click it to learn.
Manuals will fall into 1 of 6 categories:
- Weapons
- Offensive
- Defensive
- Utility
- Mobility
- Resources
Each manual will have a list of themed affixes.
Give your item to the Blacksmith and select the manual from the appropriate category. You can not pick which recipe from that manual is applied to the item, it is randomly selected and you can only do that five times, called Temper Durability. This means you can't indefinitely reroll the Temper until the Blacksmith picks the specific recipe you want. You can apply two Tempered Affixes to each Ancestral Legendary item.
