 Items you don't want to keep or sell can be salvaged for free by the Blacksmith and broken down into useful crafting materials which are stored virtually in the 'Stats & Materials' tab of your Character Profile. All gear types and tiers can be salvaged at the Blacksmith.

-All Common, <span class="magic">Magic</span> and <span class="rare">Rare</span> items can be salvaged in one go but <span class="legendary">Legendary</span> and <span class="unique">Unique</span> items have to be salvaged one at a time with confirmation however you can speed this process up by mousing over each item you wish to salvage and marking them as <span class='white'>'Junk'</span>. Do this anywhere, better still, do it as you pick up the loot and review when you're playing then it's one-click salvage when you next visit the Blacksmith.
 When you salvage <span class="legendary">Legendary</span> items, you'll upgrade the [[Legendary Aspects]] in your [[Codex of Power]] if the new Aspect is higher level than the one you already have.
