What are Vaults?
Vaults were a new type of Dungeon added in Diablo 4 Season 3: Season of the Construct and can be found in different zones of Sanctuary.
Vaults were originally created to keep out the forces of evil but have now been corrupted by Malphas, the Season 3 antagonist. These Vaults house elemental Hazards devised by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan. They also contain the new monster type Constructs which has several elemental variants.
Players will fight the new Constructs and have to avoid many different types of traps.
Are there different Vault Types?
Yes, there are four types of Vaults available throughout the Season, which are an extension of Malphas.
How do you access Vaults?
Vaults can be accessed with the Vault Sigils which drop alongside typical dungeon sigils. They can also be crafted at the Occultist and require Pearls of Warding to create.
What is Zoltun's Warding in Vaults?
During Vault exploration, players are blessed by Zoltun’s Warding by interacting with the statue of Zoltun Kulle. Zoltun’s Warding is a layered blessing which grants access to riches within the Vaults. Zoltun’s Warding diminishes stack by stack if you fall prey to the various Hazards scattered throughout the Vaults. Be warned, one hit by a trap will mean you lose 1 Zoltun’s Warding blessing.
Pearls of Warding can be exchanged in the Vault for extra stacks of Zoltun's Warding.
1 Pearl of Warding can be exchanged for 3 stacks of Zoltun’s Warding.
How do you Get Pearls of Warding?
Pearls of Warding are acquired by defeating Elite Constructs in the Arcane Tremors overworld events added in Season 3.
How do I get the rewards in a Vault?
Once players survive all the enemy waves and avoid all the traps and hazards in a Vault, the final treasure is revealed.
What is a Wardwoven Chest?
If the Zoltun’s Warding is intact after defeating the enemies players will unlock Wardwoven Chests which have Legendary rewards.
Requirements for Warwoven Chest Rewards
There are three different sizes of chests availbale depending on what World Tier you are playing on and each requires a certain amount of Zoltun's Warding left at the end of the Vault run.
- Minor Wardwoven Chest = 1 Stack Left
- Medium Wardwoven Chest (Nightmare) = 5 Stacks Left (you will get a Minor and Medium Chest reward)
- Major Wardwoven Chest (Torment) = 15 Stacks left (you will get a Minor, Medium and Major Chest reward)
The Danger Room
This is the conclusion of a Vault. Here players will be challenged by multiple unforgiving hazards and traps simultaneously.
How does group play work in the Vaults?
The Vault functions like other dungeons, however, players that leave the Vault will lose the Zoltun’s Warding buff.
Paragon Glyphs and Vaults
Like any other Dungeon, Paragon Glyphs can be levelled up in Vaults once you reach the end and complete the Vault.
