Fields of Hatred are corrupted areas of the world making them PvP zones.
Born from their contempt of mortals, Mephisto has cursed specific areas of Sanctuary, transforming them into deadly Fields of Hatred. These designated PvP zones are the proving grounds for players looking to bring renown to their name through blood and zeal.
You can be attacked in these zones but you can acquire Seeds of Hatred from monsters. If you’re attacked and killed items related to PvP such as the Seeds of Hatred can be stolen by the attacker.
Seeds of Hatred must be converted to Red Dust at the Alter of Extraction to avoid being looted by other players. Red Dust can be redeemed at the PvP Cosmetic and Mount vendors for "ornamental rewards".
