'''Raheir''' is a defensive [[Mercenary]] who specializes in keeping you alive. Born on the lawless streets of '''Gea Kul''' <small>([https://www.purediablo.com/diablo4/map/?markerId=marker_1728386483112 Map])</small> and trained by the [[Iron Wolves]], he fights with a massive shield and a stubborn determination to protect anyone under his care. He's also a father, a blacksmith by trade, and the first Mercenary you'll meet during the Vessel of Hatred storyline.

Raheir becomes available once you finish the main [[Vessel of Hatred]] questline. From that moment on, you can hire him as your Primary Mercenary or assign him as a [[Mercenaries#Reinforcement_Mercenaries|Reinforcement]] through the Mercenary menu.


==What Raheir Does Well==
Raheir is a defensive Mercenary built around keeping you alive rather than dealing damage. His skills focus on:

* Drawing attention with Taunts and [[Knock Down|Knockdowns]] that give you windows to reposition or retaliate.
* Putting up defensive barriers to soak incoming hits.
* Boosting Armor and Resistances for extra toughness.
* Giving you an emergency save through his perk, [[Valiance]].

He's most noticeable when monsters hit hard or packs are dense because his control and mitigation smooth out incoming damage. Raheir's role is control and protection, rather than damage.


==Unlocking Raheir==
* Complete the main [[Vessel of Hatred]] campaign.  
* Visit him inside the Den <small>([https://www.purediablo.com/diablo4/map/?markerId=marker_1728070768324 Map])</small> in Nahantu.
* You hire Raheir in the Den, but his skills and perks can be changed anywhere via the Mercenary menu.
* From here you can hire him or use him as a [[Mercenaries#Reinforcement_Mercenaries|Reinforcement]].

Once hired, Raheir will become available account-wide for your characters in the same realm (Seasonal, Eternal, etc).

Raheir's skill tree is built around control, protection, and keeping pressure off you. His abilities fall into three familiar themes:
