The Butcher is the first quest boss encountered in the game, the scariest monster in the game, and one of the most difficult, for the level. He's found in a small, corpse-filled, ensanguinated square room on level 2 of the dungeon, and bursts forth in a frenzy when the door is opened, with his infamous, "Ahh, fresh meat!" cry echoing forth.
Quest Details
The Butcher's quest occurs in every multiplayer game, and 2/3 of single player games. He drops a random magical item in multiplayer, but drops the unique Butcher's Cleaver in singleplayer. See the Butcher's Quest page for more details and strategy tips.
