It's surprisingly not that uncommon - I blew a million gold gambling rings, so at 3% odds of a unique, there's ~11% odds of getting two SoJs per million gold.
That's probably true. But just give me your million, I don't feel like mine has the same worth :p

Well I guess it is specific to old patches? Or just I didn't burn enough to get uniques through gambling in 1.14?
 
In modern patches it's 1 in 2000 to get a unique in gambling and only then do you have a chance of at most 1 in 31 (although at a high level it's almost twice as unlikely) at an SoJ.

@Babyhell There's a 3% chance of getting a unique from gambling in 1.00-1.06 (provided that the item hasn't already been in the game). If a unique Ring is generated, the game will always spawn Nagelring if possible, then Manald if Nagel already exists in the game, then SoJ if both already exist. My Sorceress carries Nagel and Manald in the stash, so as long as I don't have any SoJs in the game, there's a 3% chance per gamble of scoring one.

To give you an idea of how common they are, I gambled two during my single-pass HC run, then gambled two more last night. I'm trying to get enough to equip any LoD characters that would want two, in addition to the off-chance of getting an exciting rare (dual leech, huge resists, enormous +stats, etc.).

Alright, thanks @Luhkoh and @art_vandelay for additional info. Well it's another point of interest for early patches! And all of that added, that's so much depth added in SP to this game..!
 
Wow.. I ran this rack for several years. It has been the most frustrating aspect of my 1.07 experience, because it's only between 10-30% stable. IIRC it was around 26 Sazabi Ghost Liberators before I struck gold (current count is at 31). I never kept track of how many runs I've made over the years, but you can imagine with a 1/4 Balrog drop, and 30+ greens. Haven't really played much 1.07 in the last year+, and now I'm just re-working my LK map to see if I can get any new racks to run along with RFL 2...

Now I have three in total and just need 1 more to push the Dex requirements of a Long Battle Bow to 20 so that every character has enough Dex to equip it at level 1.

Also I've been thinking that rerolling at ilvl 1 should be even better in 1.08. The ilvl 1 jewels there have the same affixes (and weights) as the ones in 1.14d but there's up to 6 affixes which should yield a higher chance then 1 in 10 to get the desired combo. That would also mean a higher chance at getting +% ED as an added bonus.

@WoRG When you forwarded your rare jewels from 1.08 to 1.13+, did the poison damage on them change? In the files it says that the 'of Envy' suffix is weaker in 1.08 but it also says that there's a min and a max poison damage which is something I've never ever seen ingame.
