2020 Spring RFL Sign Up and Running Thread: Round 2 (Travincal)

I've been lazy about posting to the forum lately, but thought I'd give a quick update. Am up to just under 13 hours now and am fatiguing fast. Was trying to grind pretty hard in order to leave myself enough time for a second set, but I'm doubting I'll want to do start one. We'll see :p. My terrible start of a set has rebounded and clawed its way up to mediocre, so thats good :). And runtimes are staying just under 22s, which I'm pretty satisfied with. And coolest non qualifier so far was this. First of these ever, and crap roll but I'll still take it.

I did run with 3 piece tals for a couple hundred runs, but was exceeding 23s runs with it, so I went back to viper (which is my max dmg setup). I wanted good chances at a poison and cold die facet, as well as wisp and bk for grail purposes. I found that poison die facet, as well as deaths sash (which was my last set item I needed for the grail), and have found 2 cold facets, but both were lvl-up. No bk/wisp yet. Anyways all this to say I also did this little analysis about my chance to get these grailers.

So a decent difference in chance to find the grailers while trading off ~200 runs in the set. I regretted not trying harder in the cows set, so I decided to maximize my rune potential and stick with the dmg setup. But if I work up the willpower to do a second set, it will be with 3 piece tals and I'll probably relax the pace too and let the runs creep up higher than the 23.5 I estimated for this. Or I may just get back to mf'ing in pits, we'll see :p.
 
So, it might be a little late for the asking, but has the idea of minimizing the blind spots by rolling a map where as many as possible spawn in the doorway/stairway area just been abandoned? Know I've enjoyed that bit of assurance, but everyone keeps talking about them spawning "on the end of the balcony"...

I mean, really, how efficient is it if you miss the Cham when it finally drops? 😜
 
8h in, nothing spectacular yet. I may even get a second set started at this rate.
 
Balcony cluster running is basically a barbarian's try to compete with sorc. Without it winner between the two is not questionable. Mathematically speaking.
In a tournament environment it doesn't matter much considering winning odds depend 90% on luck and 10% on actual running style. Having two groups may be beneficial for barb to have, although even then we can't expect to avoid all blind spots, only reduce them. Barb needs to perform additional walk on the right side of all drops looking for orange flash. Some may argue it isn't needed and you can see everything that dropped same as when running LK... I had a rune drop I didn't see until I performed additional walk, but I also used the typical balcony cluster running style, not two groups.

13h30 in, couldn't play much lately due to work restart at awful hours for gaming time Fourth qualifiers dropped, I get pretty confident in hitting a full set of them.

On the same run, a 161ed/6ll Arreat's, and a 23ar/17life sc...I guess I got all my drops of the hour played packed on this very run!
 
Well I said I wouldn't update til the set was over, but I've gotten really frustrated with still having NO qualifiers after 15 hours of running with the WW barb. Just hit 450+ runs total. Leveled from 89xx to just dinging on lvl 91 on my last run. I've found 2 Lenymo sashes, Alma Negra (Grailer for me), 2/20/17 life sc 😁, and a 5 FRW/6 MAX/46 AR LC in the last 120 runs since last update. So I've decided these last 5 hours of this set, plus the next set I'll start this weekend/week will be run with the Blizz sorc. See if she has some better RnG...She sure can't have any worse LOL. Haul pic? and Readouts will come after this dreadful set is complete. Maybe a small miracle happens in the last 5 hours.
 
Now at 90.5, 16 hours in, roughly 700 runs done. Sorry @Kstil3227, but got my 5th on my HC pally, and it's a bit of a surprise here. Now i look after upgrade(s)!

Got some non-qualifiers worth a drop screenshot...somehow. This Travincal round is the first real MF session in HC, so i bet there are things i wouldn't even screenshot in SC ;) Anyway, the Bloodfists are a great find for the HC characters to come!

10 hours in with 2295 full xp runs done. At this point I'll just make it my goal to reach over 4500 runs by the end.
Found only one facet which is terrible luck, but on the other side found two charms which I value higher than Cham. I rechecked the math, there is roughly 1/550 chance for me to find charm I will actually use. So, I welcome this good luck since cows didn't deliver anything meaningful for me. Rare jewels are usual garbage, I don't know why I even pick those up. It's not like I need any jewel at all... Found some solid uniques with high rolls. But more about it in results thread.

Congrats on this set already :) i'll check previous messages for your MF, but it is already a big number of runs compared to my probable 875/900!

Also, I like the amulets/rings given as best drops...when I am happy to find a couple of Ravenfrost xD

@Babyhell the vast majority of the runs with 155mf, but i did a couple of hundred test runs with 3 piece tals (303mf) and actually did find a couple of unique rings and facets during that time, so didn't feel like i could say 155mf overall. Also added in the totals of the rares I found. Forgot to do that. Looks like I got a few useful rare rings, but nothing jaw dropping, and still zero fcr rings with mana leech :confused:.
 
Only 13,3 hours in here, kinda lost interest over the last few days. I'll finish this set but that's it for this round, luckily my wishes for this set came true :D

Also @Gripphon : Fruit checked and psetting never increases elemental damage. It does increase physical melee damage though and in a few cases that results in ranged damage being increased as well (bug where melee damage is added to ranged, happens with quillrats for example)
 
@Babyhell - That's a pretty sweet Arioc's you got there! I've always wanted to make a Spearbarb/Spearzon with a +4 skills Arioc's.

Even though I can't compete this year, I'm still enjoying watching from the sidelines. Nice progress reports everyone!
 
Finally started on my set... ~2.5 hours in with one qualifier and nothing else worth mentioning, but this is better than my usual luck during tourneys so still 'excited' to see how it goes.

In other news: Dwarf Fortress is effin amazing and terribly frustrating, like another game I sometimes play... if I don't finish my set (as is all too likely) this will be why...

Not running a second set...I found Trav to be a little more annoying to run than cows for the characters I have.
Likely due to their more random possibilities and movement patterns. Sometimes they would scatter quite a bit, sometimes their random boss mods would overlap in bad ways,
might/fana/extra fast, etc. Just wasn't as relaxing as I found the cows sets to be.
