Riemann the HC Tesladin has hit level 72 from NM Andy runs found a few butcher's pupils and a Vmagi. Plenty of Manald and Nagel but no dice on SoJ. Hopefully I'll find a few better rolled Vmagi's and Butchers, SoJ is being elusive so here is my formal complaint to the RNG gods.
I need NM Meph's drops but last time my paladin got to the Durance I deeded. Maybe Riemann has a better destiny in store.
Well D_Harry the HC Bowazon is making slow progress just now. Lvl 23 and about to enter the vipers. Things will speed up dramatically at 24 I hope with strafe although desperately need a better bow. Looking at rw to see what low level bow ones are about.
Most interesting thing to happen was getting a savage Lochaber axe on first roll which was huge boost for my moron.
Most of the time were spent in ancient tunnels while mixing in some cs runs. I do love having max block and delirium merc, but still got reminded of being mortal. Teleported into the chest room (amped ofcourse ) and was greeted by fana pack of embalmed, but was quick enough to drink a full rev. Lesson learned, perhaps.
I tried different merc auras while rolling maps. I used holy freeze for the longest, but its annoying to spot unique packs sometimes. Switched between might and defiance couple times and settled with might, thinking merc could use the extra damage.
As for gear not much has changed. Found better viper at some point, used second larzuk quest for shako and found some small charm upgrades. I wish they all could have been like this:
Not sure about this map. Its not too huge and the chest room is located last, but seems somewhat inconsistent with unique/champion packs. I have no idea what to look for a solid tunnels map and execuse my paint skills
I have runes for infinity now (missing base), but then merc wouldn't have life leach as he would be giving up reapers. Somehow i didn't experience as many game crashes caused by delirium as usual. I'd love to switch for lightning, but lack of good caster amulet is a real pain. Also im saving last larzuk quest in hopes of finding good griffons.

Quick recap of Titaani's history from the previous thread on the old forum.
Leveled with swords, which was a big mistake. I don't remember if I switched into polearms midway or not, but leveling was a huge pain regardless. I remember being stuck in act 2 of nightmare or hell, just farming a pack of beetles that happened to spawn near a waypoint.
Eventually I made it to hell LK, in which I procceeded to farm Oath. With that I think I finished the game. I don't think I did any farming with it, I just continued farming LK. When I eventually had my grief/oath or grief/grief, I might have done some travincal, but most of my runes came from LK. When I had enough runes for enigma, I made it and started to farm a85 areas, mephisto and travincal.
Farming those areas got me the basic uniques I wanted. Gface, goreriders, laying of hands, string of ears/trang oul belt, ravenfrost. I managed to get lucky enough at travincal to find a highlord's, which other 99'er barbs didn't get so lucky at. I think bewitch's barb was like 97 or 98 when he got his?
By the time I had all of my wanted gear, I was pretty burnt out on D2 so I procceeded quit playing for over a year.
I went through the old thread on the old forum to see my old posts and their replies to get some idea of what my plans were. In my gomule stash I had 2 Sur runes and an Ohm, and some other mid level runes. I knew I wanted to have a Grief/Beast combination for Nithlatak from other 99'er barbs, so I procceeded to farm Travincal for a bit more to make that happen. Less than an hour in I struck gold
By this point I had the high runes to make both Grief and Beast, but I was missing a Mal and maybe a Um. I wanted to have the bases ready for whenever I got the middle runes, so I switched to seal popping CS on varying player counts.
First berserker axe
I had a spare Vex from the last time I played so I rolled another hoto to try out the 63fcr setup. This frees up a ring slot affix and is more defensive due to the increased BO from +skills. (edit: Went to hellforge for some luck but evidently it didn't work! Originally I wrote that it frees up a ring slot affix, which it does by not needing the 10fcr for 105 fcr breakpoint, but I replaced it with a ravenfrost and replaced trangs belt with string of ears. In the future I might roll with 2 crafted rings, but I don't think I have anything nearly good enough to justify that yet.)
2 Vexs that I have no plan nor need for right now. If I happen to find an Ohm, I can always try my luck at another Grief. I got my Mal though, which I needed to make my Grief/Beast.
I grinded CS on p3 with seal popping to try to find the second needed berserker axe. A few hours later I did find one, but I was so stoked I didn't take a screenshot of it. I also didn't take screenshots of making the Grief/Beast since I was triple-checking every single rune insertion to make sure I got it right.
Very nice roll on the Grief and a decent roll on the Beast. This will be my setup to grind Nithlatak for 98-99 if I ever get that far. In the meanwhile I'm testing out the slight extra DPS and range on the axes to see if I like them for normal WW gameplay. In this picture I'm respecced to concentrate/berserk for farming Mephisto.
Ideally I would like to have an eth Reaper's Toll to socket for my merc, but at 300mf Mephisto drops those at a rate of 1/650ish, and an Item being eth is a 1/20, leading to a drop rate of 1/15000. 30 second mephisto runs for sure are possible, but at that speed it on average it would take 125 hours to meet the drop rate for the eth Reaper's toll. Obviously that is not worth it, but I'm going to farm him for an Arachnid mesh anyway. Maybe I'll get lucky to see a Reaper's toll or two on the way.
My secondary long term plans are to find a nice rare weapon, gather enough runes for a last wish / breath of the dying(s) like perkele, getting an eth Reaper's toll, gathering enough equipment to have a decent singer setup. Currently I have 1 sounding GC, so I'm still very far away from having a full inventory!

Imbued an Eth crystal sword for fun. I still pick up rare weapons to see if they're eth and if they are, I identify them. Loses me some time everytime I see a decent base drop, but I like playing the lottery!

Or go find something with prevent monster heal/add some poison damage. I can't remember if you can do something like the iron maiden/golem trick with the Valk if you can find something with iron maiden charges. I don't usually pay attention to that one though so I can't remember.

Hey all, I´d like to open a discussion about Poison Nova/CE or other Poison Nova hybrid Necromancer builds.
Has somebody tested Corpse Explosion or Poison Nova hybrid builds in Chaos Sanctuary/ Throne on P7? Has it worked out and what are your overall views about these builds?
@ffs I just saw your necromancer´s build from Youtube and I am wondering, whether you ever tried Csing or Baal running with the same build on lower levels like 90-98?
I've played both PN and Summoner Necros a lot, but I assume you're referring to my untwinked 99er Necro? With that guy I went Summoner at Baal until 97 and then switched to PN at Nihlathak until 99 (write-up here).
PN doesn't really work for Baal. Achmel + Ventar are immune and Lister pack has extremely high poison resist, plus when including Baal himself in later levels it takes forever without beefed up skeletons. IMO Summoner is really the only choice for Baal with Necro.
As for CS: Summoner isn't great, PN generally works – but probably worse XP (and less comfortable) than Baal summoner. "Probably" just because Gripphon at some point had reported pretty good Necro CS numbers with PN doing 2-seal runs. It wasn't like Blizzy or so where it was clearly the #1 approach, but still seemed to potentially outperform Baal in his case.
Thing is it didn't for anyone else. At least AFAIK for everyone else who tried CS Necro (including myself) XP/h was not as good as Baal, and even other areas like Pit seemed more attractive with PN build. IIRC @PhineasB's 99er Necro just continued leveling in the Pit after testing CS, not wanting to go the Baal/Summoner route either.
Still, of course CS is always a decent target for sub-98 for any char that can run it reasonably quickly. So I'd say if you feel like it, go for it.
Hey all, I´d like to open a discussion about Poison Nova/CE or other Poison Nova hybrid Necromancer builds.
Has somebody tested Corpse Explosion or Poison Nova hybrid builds in Chaos Sanctuary/ Throne on P7? Has it worked out and what are your overall views about these builds?
@ffs I just saw your necromancer´s build from Youtube and I am wondering, whether you ever tried Csing or Baal running with the same build on lower levels like 90-98?

But I wasn’t able to get it to work, in large part I think due to limited respecs for untwinked and saving Ancients for 98-99. As a result, I wasn’t able to test fully the LR options, with and without attract and/or revives. In looking back, I think the Stormshield set up and 75 FCR Gripp suggested would work nicely, as the Necro is a bit fragile in CS.
For Baal, waves have lots of FIs and high poison, especially Ventar wave has high poison resist in addition to FI. I’m sure it would be workable with revives to help avoid getting swarmed by later waves. But I think the resists are why summoner is preferred by most for Baal.
Interested to see your results if you end up doing some testing!
I think that I'll do some testing with PN/CE build, because I got Stormshield and ethereal Reaper from Mephisto . CTA roll - 5/6/4 .
The thing is that my Bone Spear damage without Homunkulus is still too low, which affects the speed of these Gripphon/ seal runs. Well, I have not used Amplify Damage thus far, nor have I maxed CE, which probably has the best value for cleaning those two seal packs for maximum experience as I learned from Luhkoh and ffs, but I get the feeling that PN + CE could be even more efficient due to the current low + skills amount.
That is why I am contemplating LR + PN followed-up by Amp + maxed CE and I would use Dim Vision (perhaps Bone Prison if I have extra skill points to spare) for crowd control. Additionally I´d like to build Delirium as soon as possible, which would be another safety item. I think that this build could be really fun and I have never played with PN necromancer before Oo.
My mephisto grind lasted for 553 p1 kills and 599 p3 kills, and a few dozen unaccounted for.
I started the grind in order to get War travellers for more boot options, Andariel's visage for mercenary helmet options and Arachnid's mesh for more options on my Pitzerker setup and to try a Singer setup if I ever have the skillers for it. I still haven't decided if I want to roll with Andy's or Vampire gaze, or even Kira's, but I am going to Baal with unsocketed Andy's and see how it performs. (edit: and of course for the chance of eth reapers as mentioned in my previous posts. But I almost certainly wouldn't have stayed long enough to meet the drop rate, so getting lucky was nice!)

With my fast and limited testing, I concluded that Concentration is better than Berserk for farming Mephisto. Mephisto has 20% physical resistance and 50% magical resistance in Hell, and if your merc gets off a Decrepify it reduces Mephisto’s physical resistance a lot. I didn’t test Whirlwind since I wanted to wear a 6x Ist’ed phase blade on my off hand for more MF. My gear setup was the following at clvl 93. I’m averaging 26 second runs on p1 and 28 second runs on p3.

So D_Harry has started to move along nicely. Currently sitting at lvl54 outside the Maggot Lair. Managed to get an Insight for my Might Moron and Valk to slvl 17 so huge help. Really crap drops to be honest so probably will have to go and rerun NM Andy a few hundred times to bulk out gear.

Just wanted to post a quick little update about my Barb Anger.
"Only" 119mil left to 98. Its going pretty well so far.
And I just had an amazing drop which i wanted to share immediatly:

Super happy about this drop. I couldnt believe my eyes at first. I think it dropped from a skeleton mage at wave 2.
Together with the sur rune from the pits I have my ber to make beast. That means no more LK before nila yeaaaahhh =)
I also got my 2nd Nightwings Veil lol. Terrible roll again.
Btw I stopped using my runcounter. The constant pressure to get good run times took away alot from the fun. Now I just watch the current exp in my character sheet and I dont have to be so stressed out about my runs and can just chill.
I dont think I will be able to hit 98 this month but early may should definitely be possible.
Just a question re: eth Reapers. Why would you give your merc a Reapers? As a Necro, you have access to all the Decrip you will need. Give your merc a big hurty Obedience. Insight IG.
@DaveWThe2nd I am playing patch 1.14 d without any mods whatsoever, but you are spot on ... this continuous overcasting has become quite annoying. That is why I am restraining myself using Delirium for the time being as well.
I will update you guys on Exanimate´s progress soon. I just respecced the character yesterday and I will do some test runs on P7 next week.

Reapers seems like a bad choice for necro anyways. You have amp and the dmg of reapers is just low. Obedience will give you more dmg and faster CE targets.
