AFAIK, Delerium is for chars that lack any intrinsic crowd control skills. But the Necro has crowd control skills for the win: Attract, Confuse, Terror, Dim Vision. Do you have any points in Revive? They are worth it as an extra meat shield.

Level 97 reached!
First part between 96-97 was farming ancient tunnels until i found this beautiful thing.
Found ber earlier so i had runes for infinity(base missing)+CoH.
This is second griffons i've ever found so i was really looking forward to switching for lightning build. Last Larzuk quest was used for it. At that point i had rolled 2 eth threshers and 1 eth giant thresher, but no dice. Kept farming tunnels for a while, but i was getting impatient so decided to try my luck in lk. Pretty soon i managed to roll map with cryptic axe rack and after some farming infinity was made.
I used second respec and started to farm pits+some cs. With lack of any lighting skillers and spirit shield, light spec doesn't feel too enjoyable with high players setting.

Im not sure what happens next. I probably continue doing pits for now and hope to craft a better caster amulet for more options. I forgot i had this until i started to look though screenshots for this thread. I could switch some equipment around to get 117fcr with stormshield and crescent moon, but i'd loose lots of resistances+max block and don't feel like using last respec just yet.
I would love to find jah(or two
), but not sure how i would use it. I was planning to make enigma, but if i want to stay as lightning spec, vipermagi seems to be only option for me. Loosing any grail finds to delirium bug is extremely annoying so making dream is starting to look really tempting choice. Even thought about switching back to blizz (or maybe something like blizz+20 firewall and 1 mastery for back up), but we'll see.
Also found her first unique sacred.

Holy cow, congrats on the Tyraels! Unless I’m mistaken, I’m pretty sure that’s the first one to drop across all the untwinked 99ers to date

Patriarch Septimus and Azrael the A2 HF Merc, Lvl 97 (pic)
This took a while (last update here with Septimus was in November after the RF/MF tourney), but Septimus progressed another level. Almost exactly 6 months after this last update!
He got three-quarters of the level across RFL round 3 in the Pit, with one full set and another ~8 hours for a second set. The last quarter over the last two weeks, sandwiched around moving so having less time for D2.
The finds across RFL are summarized here, here and here, with pretty terrible rune luck but quite some nice TC87s. Meet the rune finders thread summarizes his gear and key stats for He picked up a Ber while warming up, and Mang's the biggie during RFL (with Shadow Dancers, Stormspire and Ghost Flame also). Rune luck didn't improve over the last quarter, but he did pick up a Dweb (2/42). He didn't get any Elemental Skillers and no charm upgrades to speak of besides a few SC of Good Luck for more 7MF ones, plus a 36 Gheeds to improve over the low roll one.
I plan to test out Gripp runs with him to see if it's viable, and maybe even checking out p8/p7 runs, but I'm guessing he will roll a good Baal map and log another 1100+ of those to hit 98. Pit was nice for the MF and not-terrible XP at 96-97 and avoiding Baal runs for a while. But no way am I doing 97-98 with the Windy like I did with the Necro! He already cashed Ancients, so no incentive like there was for Pestilence. I suspect it will be a while for the next update (at 97.25) because I want to knock out at least two more twinked characters and I have some work to do on guide updates.
I did some tidying of the tables to shift some to resting heroes status. A little more than five years later, we may be winding down a bit here. But I have about another year or so I'm guessing to finish off Septimus, so I'll at least post updates every couple months, along with the other folks who are still actively pushing characters to 99

I respecced to PN / CE on level 94, which increased the experience gain by 19%. The experience gain for the level 94 was 15.3 M/h. It was 8.9 M/h for level 95 and now 5 hours into level 96, the measurements have constantly stayed between 4.6-4.7 M/h. Initially I thought that I could reach level 99 within 320 hours, but now it appears that it could take up to 370 (+- 20 hours) Oo.
By the way, could someone recall Summoner experience gains per level at Throne? I´d just like to calculate how many hours I have lost / am going to lose.
The plan is to reach level 97 and then test Nihlathak vs CS to find the most efficient path. Most likely I need to follow ffs´s suit and start Nihlathak runs. As for level 98, I am quite sure that I could probably beat Fragile´s exp gain so 97-98 is probably going to be the most mentally challenging part of this journey.

This has been recorded shortly after respec and I´d like to believe that I have become more efficient since then. The build itself is extremely safe. It seems that Stormshield is just OP in D2. I think that there has not been many instances where they have gotten more than 50% of my health pool. It is virtually impossible to kill me. Only things that can kill me is probably my own carelessness or stupidity . I have seen few Might + Fanatism; Conviction + Lightning enhanced combos, but as a rule of thumb, these mobs just could not hit me and even if some of them get through, Bone Armor will absorb most of the damage.
As you see from that video, I still wear Nagelring and Gheed´s for magic find. The mf difference, which is + 67%, is marginal, but it is still better than nothing. I hope to find Death´s Web, Griffon (or a proper Circlet) or CoA, which all could improve the efficiency I reckon.
Notable drops:
Jah, 2x Gul, PnB Skiller, 20l scs, 15@ gc, 5@ sc, druid circlet 2 20 30 with socket and great adds, lightning skiller 12 fhr.
I will take a longer break from D2 single player. I am learning another foreign language and I realised that I could make tons of progress by infiltrating corresponding native speakers community or discord in D2. And who knows ... one could hope that maybe Blizzard has fixed the lag as well . Next Exanimate´s update will probably be somewhere in the fall or early winter.
@DaveWThe2nd I banked all free skill points into Bone Prison, which has worked out quite nicely. I still wear Tal Mask and I do not have any alternatives besides Delirium. I will probably use Delirium during Nihlathak runs. Need to make few test runs over there.

Small update from my side, just to let you know that me and my sorceress are alive.
Izaura hit 82 level when doing her Mephisto runs in search of better gear. She has done arround 300 Mehps on P3.
She has completed the game till 4a hell. I will push further once I have better stuff. I'm a bit overprocective player.
Meph didn't drop anything that useful. A Lem rune (Will help with a lawbringer for my mercenary) and 3 Wizzard Spikes. I'm still doing Meph runs hoping to find a SS, shako, spider's web, T-gods, viper/guardian angel etc.

I've been doing some LK runs off and on with my amazon during morning coffee time since slightly before the RFL started. She's now sitting at 1700 runs, still no Sur or Ber runes found, but I did recently find my 3rd Mal rune, which combined with an early Ohm rune allowed me to craft her first CtA:
I'm quite happy with the roll.
The extra life makes LK running even safer than it already has been.
I plan to keep at it in LK until I have the runes for Enigma, and then take a break by farming Mephisto for some key items as well as doing some pit runs to find a base for Infinity and a 4os Monarch for Spirit before heading back to LK to get the runes for Infinity.

It took longer than expected but Anger the Barbarian has finally hit level 98.
Looking back saying early may will be the time to achive this was a bit optimistic. Even tho i pushed really hard (atleast given the available time I have) and managed to complete 5 million exp almost everyday. Some days I managed to push for 7-8kk and on the last day I completed the last 10 million.
Its kinda insane thinking that this is only the first half of the exp grind completed
The last part of this level went really smooth. I had no more deaths and only one close call. Looking back I am kinda confused why I died so much.
Dropwise this level was really insane. I found some real gems and was able to check some big items off my personal Grail list. Iam at -60 now.
The most important drop was for sure that SUR run which I already posted early.
Some less amazing drops include:
Shako, Bul-Kathos' Sacred Charge, a troll magic Diadem called "Gold Diadem", Stone Crusher, Arreats Face, 17life 17mana Sc, Nightwings, 2x Lightsaber, War Travelers 48%, Eth Bonehew, crappy Tomb Reaver, 2sox Giant Skull, Draculs Grasp, crappy Gheeds, Water Walks 199ed 64life, Ceberus Bite, 3/4 psn Facet, 3/3 light Facet, Arkaines Valor, Vamp Gaze 8/7/19, Natalyas Mark, Leviathan, Vamp Gaze 7/8/18, Eth Reapers. Necro Summoner Sk 24life.
On the last day of pushing where I grinded the last 10kk exp I had my most amazing drops:
Boneflame, Darkforce Spawn and +2 Shadow Dancers. All in one day. Big Grailers for me! I was super hyped about these 3 drops.
Overall I am pretty satisfied which the drops.
So what is the plan going forward?
1. Grind Andy and Diablo for some essences to craft a respec token.
2. Big crafting session and try to get decent blood gloves and a 10fcr ml ring. Craft Beast and Delirium.
3. Reroll a nice nila map.
4. Start grinding the last level to 99!
Do i just max Conc with the synergys, sword mastery and Battle commands?
I dont see other barbs using Shout and the +1 Skills Bo when farming nila? Is it just a waste of time to use these 2 buffs?
Also is it worth giving up highlords to reach the 105fcr breakpoint with 2x wizard spike and a random +1 barb fcr amulet?

Nice progress @Pax1990 and at least you are finished with Baal. I found that last level felt shorter even though it was objectively longer just due to the change of pace.
I found 2x wizzy and a 10 FCR to work well for hitting 105 FCR. Highlords is handy but I went with resist all -iPDR ammy for the extra comfort with vipers. Highlords dropped Nihl a bit faster but not much compared to extra split second from damage reduction and I felt more comfortable with the latter.
But I’d recommend doing some testing and figuring out what makes you most comfortable for extended running.

Ive completed the first 10mill and Iam slowly getting comfortable with the runs.
I was using Howl at first but not anymore since it gets overwriten by the delirium proc almost instantly. I still struggle with targeting nila sometimes or finding him when he teleports away.
The runs are save except for those vipers. Damn these things scary af. 2-3 I can manage and burts down nila with rejuvs but when I have problems getting to him I have to S&E exit immediatly. 3 or more Vipers and I dont even bother.
I have to stay really focused and be fast with the Esc button. Which makes the runs exciting. One really close call so far where I quit with 200 hp.
I was also testing 2x suicide branch over wizzy for some more hp but the loss of mana really sucks with the teleporting.

This is one of the great upsides for me with Nihl runs (aside from the XP, obviously). It's one of the only runs that I feel I can never reallllly get comfortable with, which means I have to actually pay attention.

Aww, that super ultra sucks. But you'll eventually get the hag of it as you did with Baal runs and then you wont know how you even died.
I prioritized safety over dmg when I did them as Restte, who was advising me from really close (hahaha we were chatting almost very day) took the same approach. DR on ammy and circlet, DR% on belt, ll and ml on ring, as much life as possible from charms and as much +skills as possible for a nice boost to BO (suicide branch and HoTo).

UT_Guy is now joined by UT_Sorc (such creative names)
UT_Guy is at 97.6 or so now. CS runs still going strong.
UT_Sorc I started up a couple of days ago and pushed her to lvl 80 or so. Now it's time to start gearing up with some LK runs and then some Mephisto/AT runs to see what I can get.

At first I wanted to post this update when I complete the first 33% of the level but I just had some insane drops I wanted to share.
After my 2 deaths at the start of the level I managed to progress to 3.29 without anymore deaths. I just S&E whenever I see vipers. This results in alot of abandoned runs but I just dont want to risk it.
But now for the drops which got me really hyped:
Pretty dope drops imo. I also found a 2nd boneflame.
But not for the best drop, if not my best drop in this entire journey. This thing got me super hyped and my hearth pumping:
Its not perfect but still pretty awesome.
Thats it for now. I will post my next update when I complete the next 33% unless I get some more crazy drops I need to share.

After being inspired by the Lev99 builds I decided to try a sorc. Here’s a quick progress report so far.
With no gear the first few levels were her whacking away with a hand-axe on P8, not particularly hard going although I died at the Monastery cloister to my embarrassment.
I did Topaz some socketed caps and armor for 50MF as soon as I got the items and found the odd Cathan’s Mask and Berserker axe, nothing that helped me directly.
Duriel on P1 wasn’t particularly hard, static tends to take monsters down pretty fast followed by Ice blast.
Second death was in the Flayer jungle after the Gidbinn quest spawned a super-fast critter. On the other hand, I did get the Eye of Etlich from the jungle which was awesome.
Chaos Sanctuary was my final death in normal and Diablo was a pain with the hose lightning but went down and off I progressed.
Made Ryme runeword in Darkwoods as 2 socket shield dropped-whew!
No real issues with playthrough, once I had Blizzard it was a doddle and I flew through the game picking up a Holy Freeze merc on the way to act as porter and all round monster distraction. I only have to outrun him
Died 5 times in NM-despite being careful…doesnt bode well I know.
Ran Eldritch (one of my fav leveling techniques) until lev 63-super easy and fast..lidless wall dropped which was awesome.
Baal dropped Silks of the Victor..Still no Skin of the Vipermagi or anything really useful.
Wanting to move on I entered Hell at Lev70
At level 71 a 4 socket non eth Bill drops and I make my first roll-perfect lev 17 aura Insight, 253 damage This helps a lot.
At lev 73 I ran countess a few times for runes and then started Ancient Tunnel runs usually at P3. At some point I build Wealth runeword for the MF in an Archon plate. Stupidly, this was also the highest def roll I’ve found all game in an Archon. Should have saved it for COH.
Because I was initially a Blova build I also did the odd pit run but I found I wasnt able to scale to a higher P count so ended up re-speccing to pure Blizz around lev 83. I then stuck to AT.
Slogged my way to Travincal and did some Meph runs, watching him dance a little jig while safely on the other side of the moat and throwing blizzards his way. Some audience, I know.
Since he refused to drop anything remotely useful I decided to go rune hunting.
First runs at LK were ‘Why hello young sorceress, what can I do for you’ And I was ‘Please can I have some high runes?’
VEX dropped and I decided to press my luck but LK was now ‘Oh, you again. Hey, how about this EL.’
After some more running, LK was ‘Look, bugger off!’ but I refused to be cowed and kept on while listening to podcasts.
HOTO was built and immediately made a noticeable difference in power/safety. By this stage I'd managed to also roll Spirit so resists were looking good.
After some time over the week, I scored a BER. This went to my first Chains of Honor as Vipermagi had still not dropped.
I had never built this before and noticed immediately that I could now do AT runs at P7 and she was much more survivable. Yes I think Enigma is probably the better armour but I wasn’t willing to add the extra time given I still had to farm for Infinity.
Ideally I knew I needed Shako for DR, life and skills but one refused to drop and I started sacrificing MF for safety as I progressed in levels.
Finally, around lev 89 or so, deaths started to be noticeable for lost time due to xp penalty( At L93 I now stare grimly at the screen cursing my folly/play.)
I was now focusing almost exclusively on AT and Pindle runs. CS was still too hard above P3 for me and at lev 93 I crafted a +2/10/20 amulet in lieu of Mara’s which hasn’t dropped.
I then tried CS at p5 and on the second run after killing Diablo was given a 8% Nightwing's Veil.
Wow.
While it lacks DR/Life, this thing rocks and after also building a CTA can now do AT, Pindle and CS at highest Player settings.
Currently I’m focused on getting to Level 94 and looking for a base for Infinity. If a Griffons drops i’ll prob respec to lightning but I do like Blizzards playstyle a lot. it’s just annoying how cold immunes cant be broken.
