Awww...I missed you too, D2 - Item Find Thread April 2019

Congrats there!

Does all this mean that if I go back to D2 and to 1.07 the game will gieb me moar OP stuffz?
I can't stand the thought of coming back to the D2 grind although. I can only say "gieb SoJ and the 20/@6"!

I'd still get this sorted out with another moderator, if you are using a mod that isn't allowed here.

@skymningsdagar It's not just about screenshots showing disallowed mods in use. Rather, any character that ever used such a mod is not to be posted about. The same applies to characters that use items found by characters using such a mod, or in turn benefiting from it – basically there must not be any trace whatsoever to non-FAM playing. When in doubt, PM @maxicek to discuss your situation.

Alrighty then, my apologies for breaking the rules. Well, I'll just leave this forum and stick to another one that I frequent. Cool forum that you've got here though, with an impressive amount of D2-knowledge stacked up. Have fun and good hunting!

Actually, I did message you or wrote on your wall like a month ago but got no reply. I suppose you haven't seen it. But it doesn't matter to me now. Good hunting!

@skymningsdagar I pointed it out to save you the hassle of running into bigger problems or wastes of time in the future. Starting over on Single Player is one of the funnest things there is. I had a hard drive crash and had to restart in the last year or two. I love having to start over or playing untwinked characters, where items you would typically throw down on bnet or if you had tons of high level twinked characters, become awesome finds. Makes for more excitement. Once you start having tons of gear, you have to resort to weird builds or untwinked and finding things that would cause great excitement when starting over, mean nothing.

But if you aren't into the grind, then I would understand why you would go to online or a different forum. Some D2 players want all items to their disposal the whole time they are playing. They run bots, import items or do things that takes the grind out. Usually they are pure PK players and play on Bnet. That is why I left Bnet, the people would constantly fight my pleas for bots, hacks, dupes to be eliminated and how much better it would make Bnet. Even on ladder, they would claim dupes and bots make the game experience better somehow. I asked why they didn't just play Non Ladder or go join a Private PK Server if they wanted everyone to have items handed to them and for everyone to have the exact same setups. These people were frustrating to say the least. But it got me here, so I am happy for that. These were typically people who ran tons of bots or bought all of their items and somehow couldn't grasp the concept that people can actually duel without having end game items in every single slot. That just because people wouldn't have every overpowered runeword, rare, charms, etc. doesn't mean people couldn't still duel. They just wanted to have an unfair advantage over everyone else. Never will I understand it. Bnet is trash until they actually take legitimacy seriously. Cheaters and BM kids. They ruin dueling with things like autoaim and chicken and ruin the economy with bots and dupes.

Disclaimer: Not referring to you as the Bnet crowd that advocates for bots, dupes and hacks constantly. None of this was about you. I was just trying to save you from problems down the road and explain why I left bnet. You probably wouldn't be here if you were like those people lol.

I am into the grind. I've been grinding like I was on speed the past five-six months, ever since I came back to D2 after a ten year long hiatus. I'm down to like 10-15 items on the journey to collecting the Grail (off the top of my head: missing Tyrael's, Shadow Dancer, Griffon's, CoA, Mang Song's, Astreon's, Cranium, Darkforce Spawn, Death's Fathom, Windforce), so I've been grinding alright. :)

But I'm not going to start over. I'm too attached to the items that I've found during these months ever since I came back. I like to play untwinked too, but even more so I like experimenting with different, counterintuitive build utilizing the items that I've found during my quest for the Grail. I've got an Earth Shifter-wielding 'Geddon/Fury Druid. I've finished the game with a Holy Fire Paladin wielding Dragonscale, Djinn Slayer, Lava Gouts, Infernostrides, Dwarf Star etc. I'm about to make my first Baba on SP specifically made to equip the Grandfather I found yesterday. Etc etc.

I don't like bots. In fact I loathe them and they're the reason I started playing SP in the first place. But having played on SP for the past five-six months I feel lonely and isolated and miss playing with other people. Hence I'm going to play the next ladder. I miss dueling, miss having the possibility of trading or giving away stuff that I don't need. I found my third HoZ on SP a few days ago and two of tem are just collecting dust and rust in a remote corner in the chamber of my Holy Grail – it feels like a waste, I could've traded them or given to someone who would benefit from it.

Not really playing a lot since RFL ended, but some casual CS runs netted this (1% ED off perfect):

Built a Fendazon around an eth Hone before, not sure if I can find some other use for it...

Speaking of TC3's: Casual Knell Striker

Nice Knell Striker! Always a good feeling to find TC3s while actually leveling a character :)

Meghan almost gave her life for that Rixot's Keen; you better damn keep it.

I don't know how to tell you this, but ... Meghan's dead :(

Well... tbh... this is for a TC3 item hunt project that I am now doing for my YouTube. When I am done I will make a little write-up for the forum.

I am missing Bane Ash, and since I have Tyraels and that stuff, I decided to do some dedicated TC3 farming in Normal :P
I know Coldcrow is best, but I made some kind of dedicated project where I will get all Tc3's that can be found in A1 normal (save for Blinkbat). I started with Andariel runs since she can drop 5 items that Coldcrow can't. When I get Greyworm its back to Coldcrow :D

Sorry for your loss btw :(

I like to ramble about things and then discover them the next day or when I happen to scroll through the thread again. Good stuff.
