Balancing the Finds – MF/RF Tournament

Well, I did start a new batch after all to level my sorc for the UT99er thread. Gained another level to 92 and am almost at 92.5 by doing Pindle runs at p8. Switched to AT runs to compare it to Pindle runs, but I'm afraid it is worse XP wise till level 93 (and MF-wise probably too, because I have to switch Skullder's for Skin of the Vipermagi).

But I found this nice thing while trying AT runs:

Well, will make the AT runs much safer, I guess :)

Results sent, thanks @ffs for hosting, was fun!

Given that I was running with my untwinked Fury druid, I got a pretty decent number of qualifiers in terms of quantity. Quality was not exactly super exciting but certainly nothing I can complain about too much!

Got 80% of the way through 92 while also ticking Ravenfrost and Highlord's Wrath off the wish-list... Just Jalal's to go! :rolleyes:

Necro new favorite trav runner? No! The merc dies too much if you dont babysit him a bit and if you teleport with him to save him, runtimes suffer since you need that first corpse. Ah well!

I also just keep getting bored super quickly in trav and arcane, so back to cows we go. Well unfortunately after ending a nice day of bbqing with the fire druid, I got back on and learned I'd apparently killed my first cow king. No idea how that happened, but kinda funny and unlucky it apparently happened on the last run of a day. So didn't realize it till a couple of days later. By anyways good times with the fire druid are over :(. Time to sub in the nova sorc and/or trapsin. Still 5 or so hours to go to finish my set. I think I'll still get it done, but will be right up to the end of the tourney. Work really picked up!

About 12 h 50 min in, all pure LK. I am doubtful I will be able to push in any more time, since I will be spending time with mine or my wife's family from tomorrow until deadline.
I sent my results in (with a caveat that I might update it, although unlikely).

Terrible picking behaviour: check
Only half-good map: check
Sloppy teleporting: check
RNG to balance the above: I am not at liberty to say :cool:

I'm just about halfway through the second set, unlikly to finish it though. I ran Pindle at /p1 to level 89, now I'm back in LK. 300 runs done. Literal runs too, so it is slow.

Still running Hell Meph and Council and almost reached 94. I'm extremely pleased with my non-qualifier jewelry luck. 2 Maras, 2 BK Rings, and 2 SoJs (the 2nd of which just dropped).

Results of 3rd set sent. Broken record in that 1st set scored higher. Got my two top qualifiers in first 2 hours (first in just 15 minutes) but crap thereafter.
Three Targets:
p1 Pit runs for 5.5 hours (same map)
p7 Chaos Runs for 4.5 hours (not a single HR)
p7 LK Runs for 10 hours (lost my long time, spectacular map after 4 hours; Tanqueray really should have a warning label)

Just finished my set and overall first SP tournament. :) Not too happy about the score, especially the runes, but hopefully luck will return soon.

  • a 1% off perfect rusty jewel of fervor (to go with my perfect ruby jewel of fervor from before).
