This game very close to being a killer PvP orb. I guess this is what keeps me identifying rares constantly. A few slight tweaks and this could have been an absolute gem that is rarer than rare to find. It's not bad as it is, but man a few more points in the skills and ggggggg!!!

Got a little too tipsy last night and decided my frenzy barb merc needed a new weapon. Cubed one of my 1.07 bases for sockets with fingers crossed, hit 4os. I guess I don't even know if other socket numbers can be rolled, I just went for it.

Here's the thing - I just don't know if this was a good idea. Now that I have it, In practice this pole doesn't seem like it increases my damage output very much. I was reading around all over hmmming and hawing about whether I'd roll with infinity or a faith bow merc or just a reaper's. People are SO split on what to do though, all the options seemed like there were pros and cons and there didn't seem to be anything close to a consensus. And of course the opinions are split on weapon options for the barb as well, and it depends on what you're going to use yourself... Most people arguing against pride seemed to say that the benefit didn't justify the cost, but no one talked about what's best when disregarding cost. I figured this way I can try out a beast in the offhand and go crazy with auras for fun.
I'll definitely be trying out different options as time goes on, frenzy barb is pretty fun running around right click held down, blasting through enemies one by one at max speed.
Shoulda probably asked around here before pulling the trigger but whatever.

@NorthDakota I was always interested in making one and making a barb or paladin that had tons of auras, but I ended up finding my eth reaper's toll to just be so valuable as far as increasing damage, slowing down the monsters and negating the physical immunes. I have never found a Cham in 15+ years of D2, so I haven't had a chance to worry about making one lol.
I am not aware if the concentration aura allows you to do more damage to the monsters than the decrep curse, minus the concentration aura. If it was reasonably close, I would think the added benefits of LL, more merc damage, slowing monsters and the breaking of physical immunes, would outweigh the cost into Pride. But if you have the runes, it's always fun to be able to experiment. And at least with a Barbarian, even Frenzy like mine is, you have Berserk to kill physical immunes anyway. I use my eth reaper's on my Zealdin and have neglected my Frenzy Barb for the max pimped out Zealer.

Yeah. Decrep is so good. Right now I'm running around with lawbringer in my offhand so that's applying decrep. On low player settings it doesn't really matter since I one shot everything up to about /p3.. but getting up to /p8 I think it's better to have decrep up even on non phys immunes than it is to run like double griefs or something, which certainly do more damage on their own if decrep wasn't a factor. But it's close.. grief is so disgustingly strong. My level is low though right now (only 86) and my chance to hit is only like in the upper 80s. When I'm hitting I'm two shotting stuff on p8 but I'm not hitting all the time so decrep is even better

Pride is good on ranged characters. Anything you hit, on or off screen, gets a damage bonus. With Reapers it is only the group that is cursed.
I found my Pride merc difficult to keep alive as it has no weapon based ED. Fortitude helps though.

@NorthDakota What @maxicek said. Reaper's is OP for melee chars, I can't think of any scenario where it isn't much better than Pride. But it's great for e.g. Bowazon. I used it on a P7 Pit running Bowie a while ago for fullish Pit clears. On the other hand, a Bowie that focuses on boss packs is probably again better off with Reaper's. Generally Pride only has niche uses, but doesn't hurt to have one lying around.

@srrw Your recent run projects seem to be the same ones I've been doing, for about the same exp (trav barb to 89 and pit necro to 93 is what I am just finishing up), but with much nicer hauls for you 
But in that light, wind druid? AT sorc? Those are the next couple I'm planning, along with more trav exp for barb. I want to go back and re experience trav now that I have decent gear for him.

I've ran AT Sorcy a bit and plan on doing a Baal Windeh (currently somewhere in Normal). And I'm waiting for one more Ber to drop so I can have a backup Enigma after I make the Infinity for my Javazon in case something.. umm.. unexpected happens.

After making an Infinity, my rune list was essentially 2x Sur, 1 Vex, 2x Gul and then tons and tons of Um and below. I decided to cube the Vex and 2x Gul into an Ohm and Cube up 6 Um Runes into an Ist and Mal and go for one more CtA. This would be put me at 3, allowing me have one on all but one of my Blizz Sorc, Trapsin, Javazon and Zealer at any given time. I have one in CS and Flail and was going to do Double Axe, but I like how the CS looks a lot and I already have a Flail one so I don't get crossed up on my Grief Zealer, so I went with another CS one. My first two attempts at this were +3 BO, with one being +3 BC and the other +4 BC.
