Tyrael's Mighty Breakdown - Item Find Thread September 2015

I was so excited about the Vortex Shield, I didn't notice it. But man when you are running hot you are running hot.

61 items to go.

Fixed the above screenshot, and another sweet find.

I don't see how it's fixed. I still see stuff in there that isn't supposed to be here on the forums.

Tremendous drops you had, but with those items in the inventory, I thought that we as SPF wouldn't care that much, no?

eh, the Single Player Forum rules only state that I'm not allowed to trade with any of you. Which is fine because I'm not looking to. It even specifically says I can do what I want as long as I keep it to my own computer. No where does it say I'm not allowed to post screenshots.

@Pringlesman Sorry, but here's an excerpt from the SPF rules:
Editors, Trainers, Drop Mods, Map "enhancements, Extended stashes, Anni, Torch etc"

If you aren't sure if you used something we don't allow, PM the SPF Moderator.

Items or characters that have used these are NOT allowed:
In the SP Trade forum
In the SP MP forum
To be posted about

Not allowed:
Ask for links for them
Ask for help with thm
Encourage their use including posting created items/chars or items found using unaccepted mods.

Ok then good bye, you'll never see me again. Seems like a stupid reason to lose community members. Also seems inconsistant to allow some B.net features to be transferred over (realm runewords) and not others.

No need to get upset. You can do what you want on your own computer indeed. The thing is: a mod like that isn't allowed here, and using it you get an advantage in getting better items. In that way it doesn't make sense to post screens about it. After all, taking it to the extreme, you could install a drop mod, have the Tyrael's fly everywhere, and then come here and post about them. It doesn't matter to us that you are using the mod if you don't trade, but posting pics here about it doesn't make sense. Granted, the mod you are using only gives you a slight advantage, contrary to a drop mod, but the underlying issue remains the same. It might be a thin line, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

As it is a thin line, I understand that you are upset. Again, don't be :). Just give it some thought, about why it is the way it is, and hopefully you can continue to enjoy this place and read and post in it.

@Pringlesman It doesn't mean you have to be gone. I'm sure if you PM @Thyiad she can instruct you how to proceed.

And as for rules, they have been established long time ago, way before you or me joined the forum, so it's not our place to decide what's inconsistent. By posting on forums that have specified rules, I think it's expected one has read and accepts those rules. It's not a matter of opinion at that point.

Is any of the people who wrote the rules a "long time ago" still around?

And why wouldn't it be our (excluding me, since I'm not nearly active enough) to decide? To me, this sounds really backwards that there are rules enforced without question (because they've been there for a while), and that questioning those rules results in one being ostracized from the community.

Are we still in the 13th century or what?

Every sensible and more open forums I frequent have their rules regularly revised by the community itself, and not just a few "elite" members that don't care about the game anymore.

Well rules can change and maybe should be changed (thats why we have a debate here on merging certain patches for trade).

The mod shown in pictures has options which are concidered to be a cheat. I disagree about the fact this mod gives a slight advantage because it gives a huge advantage because you can gather Torch + anni there on a way that differs from online play. Therefore it isn't anything elite or from the past saying we don't want moddifications here that allow cheating.

The fact you can turn the cheating part off from that modification is irrelevant aswell and simpely put because you CAN cheat with it, it is not allowed here. For me an excellent rule.

(I feel this discussion might be better suited for elsewhere, but let's see if we can keep this minimally interfering)

Maybe I didn't choose my words in the clearest possible way. Of course I didn't mean you should never question the rules. There has, in fact, been quite a lot discussion about rules lately, about trading pool consolidation etc. But I think it's expected, that by joining a forum, that you will play by the established rules, until changes to said rules are made. You don't really spark enthusiastic revisionist dialogue by first playing against the rules and then saying the rules were stupid anyways. If one thinks the rules should be reviewed, they can contact the moderators or start a thread about it. @Treeharl explained what's the problem here, and I don't think it's gonna change, because that's the way most of us feel.

Of course it's the community that decides the rules. And I think part of the reason why there is a community in the first place, are the well-established rules. Besides, I feel the rules are very reasonable, and are mostly the reason why this place works as it does. And while I understand it may feel funny to obey the rules some ancient forum members have deviced in the past, I think it's a part of reasonable internet-etiquette for newer forum members to have a certain degree of respect for the rules and older players who play by them, and not jump head-first to rule changes. Like, where's the fore-play?

Remember, that this is kinda old game. Not much has happened to it in past few years, so there hasn't been many reasons for big rule changes. Besides, the forum guide has been updated steadily. Again, it's not like those rules aren't revisited from time to time.

And I think this is possibly one of the most sensible and open forums I've ever frequented, and I've frequented many in the past 20 years. Certainly the most sensible place when it comes to this game. And if someone feels having some rules is too restricting, there's like, the whole internet out there for you.

Anyway, items, anyone?

while running hell-forge quest i was chanting "please gul, please gul, please gul" and well, i guess the d2 gods care for me cause i got it ;) now all i need is a colossus blade/sword in eth form with enough sockets to make DEATH.
Oddly enough I had more difficulty getting bases for Death and Destruction than I did the runes
