Awww...I missed you too, D2 - Item Find Thread April 2019

Not a bad evening...

Decided to test Flayer Jungle on my bowazon. It was rubbish, don't bother. But I did find this:
View attachment 13609
This takes me up to 5 Lightning Skillers. That plus my recent Griffon's drop. Any bets on what my next character will be once I have the runes for Infinity?

Next up was some testing of my AT map. Tested over 25 runs (pretty small sample size obviously) and got an average of 5.36 packs per run (4 min. 8 max). I'll keep the map though, it's pretty safe and close to the WP so runs are only around 1 minute. The best drop of those test runs:

And finally, a real spicy meatball. I needed a Diablo essence for a respec on Terrahork (I will be maxing War Cry so that I can make Baal runs truly mindless)! It took at least 10 runs for the drop I wanted. But I picked this badboy up en route, so no complaints at all!

@Hutton I have been looking for Arachnid's for however long it's been since my harddrive crashed and I restarted on SP, well over a year.. probably closer to 2 or 3.. or 4.. no grasp of time lmao. All I know is not even one yet!grrr

And I have never found a Blizzard Ormus(to my knowledge), let alone a 15% one. That is a super rare find!!!

My blizzer is geared for 200fcr LK so I can get a Sur(or Ber) and make my first Infinity for my trapsin finally. I really want to get her gear back to fathom and tal 3 piece and all the great gear and MF to do AT and Meph again.. probably will be months lol I hope not..

Nice finds!

I managed to get two 4os eth Threshers and four 5os eth Threshers so far. Once I had the second 4os one I started rolling both against each other and compared the product (1+ED/100)*(1+CS%/100) each time. After only 17 rolls I finished with these two:

I can start a Pit Singer now :D

Someone said there was no Zod this year?

m5Bpxm1.jpg

Another certain someone also recently stated that AT was garbage for runes

I also got a Lo from the chest while still looking for a map.

And the most interesting part.
For some reason Diablo has decided to unbind my screenshot key 'End'. Since I'm playing on a laptop and 'Print Screen' works with Fn key pressed it's quite annoying. So I rebinded it and it worked fine for... a couple of months. Now that the Zod dropped, I was like YEAH, let's upload the Lo as well. Wait... Has imgur not refreshed my folder? I can't see my recent screenshots. WAIT WHAT?!... Well... ****. That's the reason for the ugly cube screenshot

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation?

@art_vandelay very nice insights! I scored an eth 4os GT yesterday (didnt even have to cube it!) and 4 rolls later got this one.
frZutVt.jpg

Poor med roll, but the necro needs dmg on the merc and is doing fine on mana, so I'll take it! Though I'll probably have to unsocket it at some point, since I'd love my first infinity to be in a GT :) Unless I find a base with ed ofc. Though idk thresher might be preferable for earlier equipping. We shall see.

@Luhkoh Why unsocket it?

That Insight is near perfect and with Andariel's +2 to skills and the diminishing returns of CS the +5 and +6 CS rolls are very close anyway.

Try finding an elite polearm rack. It is super exhausting but at the end you get to keep that Insight roll and an 'infinite' supply of polearms. It didn't happen for me but you can get a lot of other good bases that way too. (Paladin shields!)

@art_vandelay You're probably right. But as to why I was thinking it, I think GT is just super cool as in infinity, and you cant rack those. At least not from LK, but I dont think from anywhere, so I didn't expect to find another one anytime soon. Also I wasn't really considering the roll near perfect because of the 13 med, but I suppose that may not matter at all post-cta. Though with a pit barb you want higher med aura correct?

@Luhkoh As in cool because of style or because of .5 more avg damage than Thresher?

Well at least for Singer the meditation roll is completely irrelevant. If you build a Zerker you might as well throw out some more runes :D (or ask the experts on that)

@Luhkoh As in cool because of style or because of .5 more avg damage than Thresher?
Both! Also its just the most upscale base (tc 87) for an upscale runeword. But hmm I know on ffs's 101 build he suggests you need a good med roll for zerker, but berserk costs 4 mana a swing and warcry costs ~30, so if you're saying you dont notice a difference when playing a singer, I doubt I will either, regardless of which character it's used on. And the only other one I can think of that uses insight as end-game is blizz sorc. But also I just didn't think it would be THAT tough to roll 250+ ed and 4+ CS, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Anyways you've probably convinced me :) I have an eth thresher as well with a much worse insight in it, and I may end up valuing the lower str req anyways. Also, I'm pretending I can roll an infinity, but who knows what bases I'll have by the time I have another ber or two!

I didn't say anything about Zerker though. The gear there is a lot tighter than for the Singer and you probably can't just throw excess points into energy because you simply don't have any. I think ffs' suggestion is spot on for Zerker.

(Do Singer! ;))

Anyway, time to dump all the stuff I found while leveling the Hammerdin from 81/82 to 95 in CS. Apart from Pul, Mal, Gul and 2xVex I scored two nice skillers,

I'd rather have a 4os eth Glorious Axe instead of that Decapitator but that will surely happen in time.

Behold, my first lategame find. (Well, second if you count the clegaws pincers. :p)

This is a pretty nice upgrade for me. Imagine it with other skills though...

And I think the game is trying to tell me something.

Edit: The gothic shield in the Dracul's drop also completes my first set: Isenhart's Armory.

@sir_cyclops I guess that was a little tactless :D I have become seriously jaded when it comes to weapons. If they aren't ethereal my brain shelves them as 'meh' but this is obviously a great weapon no matter what.

I have actually never used Stormlash on a character but I know this used to be 'the' weapon on a Zealot (together with Schaefer's) before Grief, Death and Oath came along and 'devalued' most other weapons.
