No recent HRs from LK yet for me either, but sometimes I check a big chest next to my last hut before I return to town. I got a Mal rune from it recently and about ~100 runs later got a Stormshield! Now I always quickly TK it if I see it just in case the RNG wants to grace me again...
@Jpy yikes! Those doom knights are the scariest thing about the Chaos Sanctuary for me. They hit so hard. Ledyne died once today when Extra Fast De Seis spawned unexpectedly close, leading to instant surround / death. Fortunately for me, I was barely after level 93, so the XP hit wasn't much of an issue. I'm thinking of making a delirium eventually to help keep them away, but any other crowd control suggestions for a sorc would be welcome.
In good news, I made my first HotO today! After sitting on the runes for some time, I found a white flail and tried to cube socket it. On the way to the Countess for a Ral rune, a random mob dropped an actual 4os flail. 33@ roll isn't amazing, but better than 20 from Occy, and the lack of random teleports is a game changer.
My favorite thing about it is actually the oak sage charges. The 45% life increase is amazing for safety in lieu of CtA when teleporting around or anticipating a fight, and the repair cost of 1174 per charge is easily maintained with passive gold pickup.
Reached halfway to 96 so i thought maybe it's time to do an update. Nothing too crazy has happened. I spend lots of time farming mephisto, crafted some amulets, run pits and tunnels after getting bored of meph.
After finally getting one of these
I put a hole in it and started to roll a pit map. Didn't take too long to find decent one with a well in the middle.
Also found bunch of tc3's from meph (2 sander's caps, biggins, gull, fell oak, lenymo). He dropped 4 or 5 unique phase blades, but no dice.
Things needed are base for fortitude, andariel's visage and ber for beast. Incase i don't have andariel's before fortitude, i made this for merc.

After 2 long years my Barbarin Anger has finally hit level 99.
My heart is still racing. Iam so excited its crazy. Feels almost like the first time I beat Andarial when I was a child.

As happy as Iam that I reached this insane goal Iam also kinda sad its over. Playing my barb has become just a stable activity, I will miss playing him.
But Iam also super excited to finally focus on my other characters. Iam still not sure if that will be my paladin who is at 94 and farming keys for his torch or if i will spend more time on my assassin as I enjoy her alot atm.
I will post his Hall of Fame entry probably tomorrow as I have the afternoon for myself and I can really focus on a nice writeup.

I think i won't respec to poison as long as i don't have death's web. I'll stay in the pits until 98. However i don't have any plans after that. What are my options anyway? I might just concentrate on doing grail and worry about xp later.
haha luckily there were no vipers around. I ditched the rejuv potions since they didnt help me. I rather S/E instantly then try to potion and then die anyways.

@Pax1990 huge congrats! Nice to see someone reach the goal, it's been almost a year now since we last saw a character finish the journey.
Re Necro, indeed Baal runs with Summoner are safer and faster than Pit, but then again Pit has better drops, so depends... For 98-99 a Poison Nova build running Nihl is probably the best option, with our without DWeb. Hoto could be best choice there anyway, at least @PhineasB had DWeb and still ran Hoto IIRC (so did I but I didn't have DWeb on my untwinked Necro).

@ulof as ffs said, HotO was my choice at Nihl because of the flexibility around FCR and resists. And I also went Pit to 98 with my Necro even though it was likely slower XP than Baal. He had some nice drops along the way due to being able to focus on MF a bit. Also, he was a poisonmancer from when he built Enigma

Fiona meanwhile got quite lucky. It only took 199 runs at NM Andariel at players 8 and 8 unique rings in total to find the elusive one.
Now I need to figue out how to kill Uber Diablo with my LF Zon. Is switching to Blackhorns Face, Angelic Ring + Amulet and Goblin Toes enough? The other equipment would be Titans, Viper, LoH, Raven and Mosers. She is level 90 right now, the merc is running Reapers, Vampire Gaze and Hawkmail.

Big gz on the soj drop. I cant say much about killing uber diablo with an amazon but i think a lifetab wand can help alot.
I would try to prepare as good as you can. Failing means a lost soj and they can take a while to find.
Hello Forumites. I haven't posted in ages; possibly since the old forums, but I have been playing.
Today, Big_Chill hit Lvl 98 via P1/P7 Chaos Sanctuary runs. After reaching Lvl 97 in August 2020 I didn't play for over a year but picked up the character again on September 6, 2021. I have learned that the XP grind isn't my favorite part of the game and to hold my interest I needed to think of the runs as inefficient MF runs. With this approach, I've managed to enjoy the process. Runes have been plentiful but otherwise the drops have been lackluster (I haven't even found Tal's or IK Armor).
Because I was biasing my gear for MF, I was only hitting the 63FCR breakpoint. This BP is adequate for teleporting past most mobs but I proved to myself that the 105FCR breakpoint is necessary to teleport thru Fanatacism enchanted mobs as a crew of enchanted oblivion knights insta-killed my sorc with 2,500 life; accounting for my only death from Lvl 97 to Lvl 98.
Now that I'm preparing for the grind to Lvl 99, I'm curious if anyone has an idea for a reasonable build that hasn't yet finished the Untwinked 99er challenge. I have plenty of runes but I'm missing Griffon's and Tal's armor so some builds might not be possible. Regardless, appreciate input if anyone wants to share their thoughts.
