Bonus update!

Not quite at my 25% landmark yet (currently shy of 20%) but I was doing some casual Nihl running and figured maybe other people would want to see what it's like down there as a Wolfbarb, so I recorded some runs.

As stated, this is pretty casual running, so I'm not breaking any speed records here. But if you feel like watching me do a bunch of mis-clicks, mess up teleporting, fumble my hotkeys, and miss picking up a some charms, you're in luck!

Pretty straightforward and quite safe. When I'm running in serious-mode I try to land right on top of Nihl by going down the centreline of the hall (like I do in the first run), but when going casual/for safety I land on a side or corner and take a second to try and namelock him to get to his platform. As you can see, runs can get delayed quite easily by him teleporting/moving or if I can't get a lock on him and have to fight through minions, but it's not as much hassle as I thought it would be to go track him down.

All told this is a pretty good sample of what it's like to be down there generally as a Wolfbarb, so if you're thinking of trying it (though I'm not sure why you would be...), this is probably close to what you can expect.

@ Foghorn Leghorn: I am quite jealous.

Meanwhile Fiona, my Furyzon, has passed the 1000 pindle run mark. No really noteworthy drop since the last update, but a second Andariels Visage. She is acutally using the first one with a PT socketed. Best rune drop has been a Pul so far.

She just reached level 88 and my plan is to finish the game and testing some cow runs at level 89. Hopefully I will find an armor upgrade (Lem, Duriels or Gladiators would be great) for my merc by then, he is still running Hawkmail.

Here's what I do to update the list of heros - I reply to the most recent post with the table. Then I copy the table from the reply, then I delete the entire reply, then I paste in the table in my comment. Adding your name and stuff will be a little fiddly as you have to figure out the spacing the first time you do it. You can use the Preview button in the upper right hand corner of the editor to make sure you get it right before you post it

Lot's of things have happened since last update. I've been mostly running meph+pits, but mixed in some cs, andariel and ancient tunnels.

Rather than making beast i saved it for later in case i find nice base for merc, which i did.

Im very happy with that since it gives me option to not use socket for andariel's visage.

After getting base i rolled lower kurast map. I got lucky and only needed to do 591 runs. Runs were really smooth with 125 fcr and average run time was 23 seconds.

Getting to level 94 went fast by and i didn't realise that i could start to gamble amulets and do crafting, so no crafts yet. I'll start doing crafting since i need 15fcr one if i want to use stormshield+beast or stormshield+death's web (if i manage to find one). So far im enjoying having 125 fcr with hoto+spirit.

Just finished my first week of 100 runs, and after some quick calculations, I found out that at this pace I would hit 99 in about 52 weeks. So I'll just go up to 200 runs per week and finish in about 6 months (assuming no deeds). Although I will get in an extra 20 runs this weekend to get my run count to a nice even number so I can easily tell when I'm done with runs for the day.

Fiona (Javazon) finally found her first Shako. Now I am thinking about how to use/plan my socket quests. I have found an Andariels Visage quite early and as it should be best in slot in most cases for my merc, I already socketed it.

What do you think about the following approach? Am I overlooking something? What would you do?

1st socket quest - Already used for Andariels Visage => Merc

2nd socket quest - Shako in order to increase MF

3rd socket quest - Spare for Griffons Eye

As far as I can tell I won't need sockets for anything but headgear (Infinity, Treachery/Fortitude/CoH for merc, Enigma, Spirit for Fiona).

Alas, after 13 days without a day off Saturday arrived. Grandma decided to take both of my little ones today so my ass hurts from sitting on this chair so long. Runs going pretty good after progressing from starting stats which prompted me to make the aforementioned RalRalRalOrt armor. Since I've found a nice glacial amulet which lead me to revert back to less overall safety (as you can see in the 94 screenshot 10 FR) but effectively it feels a lot safer with 4500 damage Blizzard instead of ~3700 and runs are a bit quicker for sure. I actually had a rather great day running 92.75-94 (was very motivated and in the zone with some nice tunes playing). We had one death so far in CS early the other morning in one of my short 30 minute pre work sessions trying to loot something but the loss time wasn't much. From other drops I had this cute tiara, an eth GPA which rolled 4 sockets with cube recipe, Tal's Mask (Azrael is so much less of an issue with these two upgrades), and TO gloves. I had not found a rune higher than Fal the entire 90-94 then I decided to do a few more runs so I could be above the other losers at 94 (LOL) and was gifted an Ist for my pettiness. Could make Delirium but I'll wait a bit and see if I can cube up to Vex soon.

Jin-qua has progressed to Level 84, and has completed the Anya rescue as far as storyline goes. Of note:

-swapped out the Rhyme Round Shield for a +2 Necro Skills, +8 All Res Cantor Trophy that dropped in the Ancient Tunnels
-swapped out the Lore Bone Helm for one of the two Tarnhelms I've found so far (+36% MF)
-question - Hell Diablo dropped an Andy's Visage, so I was hoping the +strength in it would help boost my merc to a point of being able to wear Lionheart Sacred Armor (req. Str of 198). His strength is 188 before the Andy's and when he puts it on, his Str goes to 215. I'm able to put the Sacred Armor on him, but it stays red and his stats don't change?
-the rest of my gear is composed of rare items, focused mainly on beefing up my resistances

My favourite part so far, in what is truly an Untwinked moment - his ammy is a rare with all resist of 18/18/31/18....and +1 AMAZON skills. And he looks rather worn out and disheveled (taken at 83, but he's now 84):

@Foghorn Leghorn - Yes, E/S is extended stash, and S/U is total number of set/unique items found (if you care to track it).

Just bumping my Javazon up to level 96 now. Still going pretty smoothly. Only notable finds this level were Mav's bow and a Veil of Steel. Runs are averaging just over the 3 minute mark. My map is very mediocre, but I want to hold off on re-rolling it just in case I find a Griffon's Eye. Due to questionable judgement, the only Larzuk quest I used (for the merc's helm) was in Hell difficulty, so punching a hole in a Griffon's will mean re-rolling the map anyway. If I don't find one by the time I hit level 98 I'll go ahead and roll something better than what I have.

I also want to complain now about not finding a Griffon's Eye from all the Pindling I did earlier and the Baal runs now. Now that I've complained, it will hopefully drop soon. I really want to hit the 68% FCR breakpoint so I can lessen the handful of runs I have to abandon due to getting stuck in the middle of packs like this:



It hasn't been too bad though, I can usually just chug a rejuv or 2 or 3 and get out if I deem it's safe enough, other times I can run outside the pack and continue on my way.
