It’s been a rough 10 days for the denizens of the Pit and Ancient Tunnels. The terrorized packs and Pindle's horde are sick of visitors and ready for a break.
That’s right, MFO has concluded! Let’s get to results . . .

@Nano and I were neck and neck (literally) at the one-week mark, tied at 101.8. Whereas his lowest scorer was 14.6, mine were 9.3 and Halaberd's at 10.4, so plenty of room to improve. And I got a couple key drops through the weekend to pull away. It was competitive below that, with @Excalibur and @Vildecor both getting big drops on the weekend in a tight race. Thanks to everyone who joined to keep this annual tradition alive. The running thread is here, and the Meet the Olympians thread is here.

A quick overview of rank and total score is followed by detailed results. This is one of highest scoring MFOs in a while. I'll have to check the older tourneys, but pretty sure it's been awhile since we had multiple contestants break 100 points, and Excalibur's third-placing score would have won last year.

Thanks to everyone who got results in so quickly. Congrats to everyone who ran and got nice drops and, most importantly, hopefully had fun! Let's see some haul pics! See you next year!

Congrats to @PhineasB for the win and the Tyrael's Might!

I was able to do more focused running this year since I had a better feel for all my TZ maps. I also had my TZ spreadsheet ready to go, so less time spent outside of the actual game. I was 2 short of running all 36 TZs and I will try to finish that off soon to complete the rankings.

I didn't run the allowed TZ Act Bosses since I had already collected run times on them prior to MFO. Instead, I continued playing Barb in other areas of those TZs so that I can have alternative rankings for non Act Boss runners.

Congrats @PhineasB great score, finally we get to see a Tyrael's again. Not even sure when the last MFO was won with Tyrael's but it's been a while for sure. @Nano @Excalibur juicy finds, too.

I won't even bother with a haul pic given unexciting qualifiers. Unfortunately I was only able to run some 11-12h or so in total, and with a ~500 MF untwinked Blizzy, so not exactly an efficiency powerhouse either. Nonetheless, very happy with my MFO, having found a bunch of useful non-qualifiers such as Griffon's (TZ Andy), SoJ, cold skiller, Vex/Cham runes.

Thanks for hosting @PhineasB, great fun as always!

Fairly happy with results, but of course wonder what would have been if I was available to run at all on Saturday and Sunday.
One grailer found: Gargoyle's Bite
Roll on the Dweb is +1 PnB, -43 Poison
Congrats to all the runners on some amazing finds, and PhineasB for hosting, winning and the Tyrael's drop!!

Thanks for the congrats, @all! This was a fun little run, especially because, as @maxicek noted, the Tyrael's drop completes my Grail. To get that drop during MFO and contribute to the overall win made it that much sweeter. Haul pic (TC87s uniques and 10+ pointers) is below:
Haul Pick MFO 2025.jpg
My last update to grail -1 came during 2019 MFO, with Mang's, so six years for the final piece to drop. Even more importantly, we answered the question (which I believe was posed shortly thereafter when I got to my ~ 80th Reaper's drop without an eth) whether I'd get my eth Reaper's before I completed the grail. Nope! :D At 104 Reaper's dropped now, and still no eth version.

But enough jibber jabber, on to the drops! I ran with Midrian, my Pitzerker, gaining from a pixel or two into level 94 almost to 94.25 over the round. Things started off on the right foot with Dragonscale dropping within the first 20 minutes of running Friday morning before work:
Dragonscale.jpg
Darkforce then fell the following evening, for two very solid drops to kick things off:
Darkforce.jpg
Halaberd's #1 dropped Sunday evening before update "sent," giving me a solid start and three 10+ pointers to build on. A dry spell followed, with Soul Drainers giving me an upgrade at slot 4, until Stormspire dropped on Thursday evening as an upgrade:
Stormspire.jpg
I was going to stop with that run, at 8pm, but decided to give it another hour before winding to bed, which was quite productive:

Tyraels.jpg
I was super pumped, and then realized that my score was looking pretty good :) I ended up running more than I had anticipated after that amazing drop, largely because I wanted to see if I could get a big upgrade for a crazy score, given that I still had Stormspire in my top 5. No upgrades on Friday, and Halaberd's #2 (eth to tick that off the eth grail) dropped on Saturday evening to give me a complete 10+ point top 5 (plus a Gargoyle's bite as another TC87).
Winged Harpoon.jpg
I figured the Halaberd's might be enough to nip @Nano, with whom I was tied at the first week update, but I continued to push for a score improvement on Sunday, with an early Griffon's (for marginal improvement over Halaberd's #2), following by the biggie with Astreon's, and then Ravenlore to push Griffon's off the top 5 (plus a Windforce for good measure, along with Halaberd's #3, also eth):
Griffons.jpgAstreons.jpgRavenlore.jpgWindforce.jpg
Non-qualifers were arguably disappointing, but it's hard to use that word during a set that yielded those qualifiers. Gul and Pul were the runes, with the only other item of note a 1/20 Necro circlet with 32CR and 11 LR that might displace the other one I have given solid resists, although I'll need to double check (still no 2/20).

Thanks to everyone who participated, especially for the timely updates. And congrats to @Nano for an epic round, and great drops--including that Templar's that could have rolled Tyrael's and yielded what may have been an all-time high MFO score.

Let's do this again next year? Sure!

Sorry I disappeared. Haven't had much time for d2, but wanted to participate in MFO despite having a vacation starting in the second half. Didn't work out and I ran 2 hours with no interesting finds :/. Huge congrats to all! Especially @PhineasB on that Tyrael's, completing about the only thing I can imagine in d2 that he hasn't already done! D2 legend for sure.

Congrats @PhineasB on winning the contest and finishing your grail, and thanks for hosting!

This was my first MFO (and my first competition on this forum) and I enjoyed every bit of it. I ran with my future-ut99er, RaaL.
Over the last ten days, he completed 200 Pindle+WSK runs (p1, p3 Baal), 200 CS runs (p1 seals, p3 Diablo) and ran Pindle for another ~100 runs (p3) on the last evening after having a busy weekend IRL.
He started the competition without having optimized gear or build, as he didn't get to finish LK runs before it started. Dual Spirit, Smoke, Mara's, Shako and ofc, a teleport staff.
After completing ~50 Baal runs, TZ Baal kicked in which meant he had to stop. He tried his luck in LK again and 58 runs later a Ber dropped, which helped him craft Enigma, HotO and CtA (more on that in a post on the UT99er thread soon).
With those massive upgrades above plus a lucky 38% mf War Traveler drop on the fifth day, RaaL ran the rest of the MFO with 364% mf.

RaaL found 398 S/U's, 71 of them were qualifiers.
Unfortunately, he didn't find any of the rarer TC87s, but here's a small haul of the last ten days:

Diablo II_ Resurrected 14_10_2025 19_11_30.png

The facets rolled -3/4 psn die & -4/4 fire up. Vex & Mal dropped in CS, Pul in the last stretch of Pindle runs.

Honorable mentions:
1x War Traveler
2x SotVM (one of them rolled perfect res, 1 point off perfect MDR)
1x Tal Rasha's Guardianship
1x Harlequin Crest
3x Marrowwalk

I think that's about it. I went in thinking I won't stand a chance (and I was right :ROFLMAO:) but had a great time and progressed alot in terms of exp & item finds. Good job everyone and see ya'll next year!

Nobody stands a chance with some of those bots for players we have in these forums. :ROFLMAO:
I do have to wonder how you all do it. As someone who has played off and on in bursts since release, I was only able to do about 2-3 hour stretches on a strict regimen of Advil, Scotch, and a compression brace to keep the carpal tunnel in check.

Huge congrats on the Tyrael’s!

I didn’t earn mine, Andy just handed it to me, as she does. Was my third gold sacred armor in D2R. Rolled +30 too, so lucky. But I’m 6 Metalgrids in and no Seraph’s Hymn. RNG is weird. Also never found a Sur rune.

I dedicated this MFO to the 'science' of verifying that 1.12 Chaos, with its Iron Maiden and Lower Resist curses, is not only not-competitive but a bonafide way to ensure that countless, nay unfathomable numbers of Jemali's bloodlines could be annhilated from the genepool.

Before moving to 1.12, I did achieve my 2025 goal of 97 essences of destruction and can now cube 184 tokens of which I will probably use less than 5 :P It took me about 16 hours of baal to get the last 21 essences and oddly enough most of my qualifiers dropped during those 16 hours as opposed to the 35+ hours in chaos.

My best drops were all non-qualifiers, with the exception of this heart-breaker:
1760533103031.png
Tomb Reaver
Cryptic Axe
Two Hand Damage: 173 - 796
Durability: 33 of 33
Required Level: 84
Required Strength: 155
Required Dexterity: 93
Fingerprint: 0xf2489972
Item Level: 99
Version: Expansion 1.10+
+60% Increased Attack Speed
254% Enhanced Damage
+228% Damage to Undead
+301 to Attack Rating against Undead
All Resistances +42
10% Reanimate as: Returned
+13 Life after each Kill
52% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items
+4 to Light Radius
Ethereal
2 Sockets (0 used)
However this drop from diablo *almost made up for it...
1760533252737.png
But still a beautiful trophy.

This one is also not to be overlooked
1760533337318.png

Another notable one:
1760533384362.png

And I was looking for one of these for a loooong time
1760533424556.png

1.12 chaos as a target was a very poor choice. But the goal was not necessarily to win, but to have fun and get my pally to 98. He's 98.6 (edit: 97.6 im not that masochistic) and with hell ancients saved thanks to 1.07 rush, the end is in sight :)
