Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

I myself ended a 4 week draught and got grailer -13 which was Frostwind for me. Now besides some big majors (Templars, tyraels, mangsongs, astreons and deaths fathom) I still need:
HoZ, BK ring, steelrends, knell striker, spirit ward, crown of ages and schaefers.

Congrats !!! Finding a grailer that far into the grail is a milestone every single time.

Always funny to see the drop RNG btw. I mean, I'm going like 'I have 5 or so of HoZ and BK ring, they are quite common, how can it be he never found those but found all the juicy stuff I have yet to find' (at grail -13 myself btw)? And I'm sure there are many other people thinking that way. At the same time you found a few items I have never ever found, not only this time around, but never at all.

@Jamie Make it! I Larzuk-socketed a 15% superior base and didn't regret it for a second. The nice roll didn't hurt, of course.

My Berserker was doing 7-14k by the end. Quite satisfying.

About Larzuk-socketing items ... I found a 45% res all Sacred Targe with my untwinked 99er Hammerdin. Felt a really big urge to bring it to Larzuk, but ultimately decided against it because the Paladin might have 3 other items to bring to Larzuk: Shako for himself , Andariel's Visage and Reaper's Toll for his merc. That, and the chance to roll 4 sockets through the cube is 50%, which is quite high. Obviously I got less, 3 sockets to be precise :(. O yes, the merc is still happily using an Insight Tresher and Delirium helm ...

So what did we learn? Just get the thing to Larzuk ;).

I think it's a unique case with the Untwinked 99er project, because you only get 3 socket quests total. Ever. So in that case I think flipping the coin was a fairly judicious choice. However, outside of that circumstance, if you happen to find one of those (almost) perfectly-rolled superior, eth bases, that has a 100% chance to get the # of sockets you want... I find it hard to pass up the sure thing under those conditions.

Edit: Related to that, @T72on1, I've been keeping my eyes out forever for a 45@ ST. When (if?) I do finally find one, there's no doubt that it will make its way to Larzuk.

@Jamie Not bad! I (try to) never complain about anything above average, even if it is only a few percent better. At least you didn't get a total garbage roll, and it's relatively cheap so you can always re-roll in that base if you find yourself swimming in Vexes later.

Right. That cheapness is what drew me to it, like I'm sure it does most people lol. I tried to put it on my javazon and kill Eldritch (P8 lol). Archers were there and they wrecked my merc and almost me.. so I put on javs to get revenge and ended up with another cool find:

Nature's Peace
Ring
Required Level: 69
Fingerprint: 0x46158324
Item Level: 84
Version: Expansion 1.10+
Prevent Monster Heal
Slain Monsters Rest in Peace
Poison Resist +25%
Damage Reduced by 11
Level 5 Oak Sage (20/27 Charges)

Weird way of finding it.

Hey all, I just did a full reset to join this excellent forum and start over without the p-word mod. After 8 months of play I had some nice patmats and few good finds, but nothing I didn't feel like I couldn't replace after this reset (no griffs or fathom or dweb or anything). Except this tiara I had planned to use for a hammerdin :(

And I blacked out the item lvl since that's the only remnant of the mod I see. Let me know if there's some other reason the screen shouldn't be posted. But anyways just wanted to whine a bit about missing this helm :)

I'm just going to go ahead and say that your new 'Death' has already started to pay for itself, then. Pretty funny imagining your javazon going out and whacking Eldritch, though.

Yeah she looked really cool with that big 2 handed eth sword hanging on her shoulder. She did not do very much damage to the player 8 badguys though lol.

I am going back and working on my twinked barbarian that I was going to make into a Trav and CS and Pits popper. For some reason I have lagged on him for a long time and he is only level 36 and is Frenzy right now. What is the best route to go for a Death CS like that? 2 Handed Zerk or WW or concentrate? Or what about two of them frenzy lol?

I would say probably anything except WW due to lack of WIAS. Also, Berserk gives a huge %ED boost, making high damage weapons like that prime candidates. I've never made a frenzier or a conc barb though, although I imagine they could be be made to work. I'm sure others will have more informed opinions, though.

I may give Frenzy a try with the Death and a Grief PB to see if it is viable. I like the faster IAS and run speed it gives, seems like it could be useful for running places without an Enigma. If that doesn't work, I am sure berserk will. I also have a level 90 Paladin that is a Zealer, that I could try it out on with zeal and charge. I am excited to try it out.

I like the look of druids with 2H and assassins with 1H. So badass!

Oh, damn... we really need to have a heart to heart talk about your charm arrangement and apparent lack of OCD...

Haha. I like the group the small charms together by type (res, life etc). At least the cube's in a reasonable spot. i saw this one from @Kitteh 's Fordyl post the first time the other day :P

*sigh* ... your parent/gaurdians may have mentioned to you at some point how just because some else does a thing, doesn't really affect what you should do... :p

Also, no. A reasonable cube placement would be against the charms, with empty space all the way to the left of inventory. Then you never have misclick dropping something in your cube as you are trying to throw it away. ;)

While we are at it, do you really need 2 belt rows of red pots? If not, put TP scrolls in 4th belt slot. Frees up space for 2 more small charms, and also bypasses cast-rate, popping the portal with no delay (big help for phys-based chars who typically have high cast-frames).

Anything else that I can tell you how you are doing wrong today? :p

DISCLAIMER: if you are having fun, then you are, in fact, doing it right. Perhaps not efficiently or in the best possible manner, but indeed correctly. Now hopefully any potential butthurt has been alleviated, and I'll return to my usual smartassery (yes, that is a word... I just made it up, like Shakespeare.)

No guardians, only pat/mats so far :p And I kinda like the idea of moving the cube to the right of the 2x4 blank spaces. I think I'll keep the tome of tp on the left though. For long questing bouts, I like more than 3 healing pots and 3 tps.

I just joined dii.net, so I need, what, like 2-3 weeks before developing crippling charm OCD and fabian efficiency (one can dream).;)
