Remember that old pindleskin drop of a dimensional shard that someone brushed off as another Ginther's or something?

I don't remember who it was or if it was a joke

Mmmm hmm. I do remember that! Difficult to find that one, but I think it was in an IFT and I'm pretty sure the poster reacted in horror after realizing their mistake.

Does the spf know about the rumor that snapchip and most other a5 superuniques are bugged and don’t drop well? Excepting pindle and thresh socket. Heard about it on dbrunskis stream so I figured it was common knowledge but I saw that recent tournament where snapchip was run. So I thought I’d ask!

@pharphis I think it was an MFO. Iirc The poster did a troll with a screenshot of a Dimensional Shard and commented “Another Ginther’s” or something.

There was much shock at the time, but he later said it was a joke.

There's some info here, and a few links in there if you want to dig deeper.

There was some investigation by @ffs on Pindle and Snapchip a while ago. The conclusion actually was that Snapchip might be as good as Pindle to run, unless you are a horking Barb. Info such as in that thread often is too technical for me, but I think that a lot of the confusion about Act 5 superuniques comes from the fact that Blizzard wanted to reduce the OPness of Pindle in one patch, but due to an error he didn't get nerfed at all.

One rumor regarding Snapchip (and Frozenstein) i've heard of is a bug where their TC's would be incorrectly upgraded; but super unique monsters should not get any TC-upgrades at all.

@Luhkoh There are a few around who know about item generation, it really depends what exactly. I suggest you ask here and see what replies you get.

So you like to get your 2019 goals early? ;)

Any chance we might persuade you to join the RFL after all?

I'm not sure I'll do some running. In case I will I can participate for sure, but for now I can't promise anything. And likely not all 3 rounds. I'm kind of sick of Travincal if you know what I mean haha. Especially if I go for some goldfinding.

Any experience/advice with impale?

Yes-- none of it conclusive, encouraging, or trustworthy. Most of my experience has been in the context of using Impale as a LI solution with 54/40 Mage Spearies (having only sufficient Str and Dex for a Maiden Spear). I still have one alive on East HCNL, switching between an "Honor" MS and The Impaler (Shael).

Not sure how quickly dura runs out.

Very rapidly. My first test of Impale came via the staffmod on The Impaler many years ago. There was an Experience shrine in NM Outer Cloister. I hit it and ran around auto-attacking with Impale. The weapon broke before the shrine expired.

Any suggestions for someone with an "El Mortal" budget?

Replenishing javelins. I just did a very brief test in Hell Blood Moor (East HCNL) with a Zon wielding Demon's Arch, and wearing "Treachery" and 20% IAS gloves (19 fpa Impale). At slvl 5 (35% chance to lose 1 durability) the quantity dropped very slowly, suggesting to me that with the skill maxed, the durability loss should be sustainable and the damage effective.

With my Zon's rig, 18 fpa Impale would be attainable with a Jewel of Fervor in her hat, and 17 fpa would be within reach by adding the Cat's Eye. (Forget Highlord's Wrath; neither Deadly Strike nor Critical Strike works with Impale.) If one wished to be obsessive, three more Fervors in a shield would achieve 16 fpa...

Thanks for the info @Zyr

Ouch. First attempt with impale will be just for bosses. Hopefully stick will last the battle..
Replenishing javelins.
I read that somewhere else as well. I think I will have to go that route for any future attempt.

I've been doing some casual chaos runs with my barb and in two of those runs, the screen shake from popping the last seal didnt happen. Do you guys know if theres a way to make that consistant? I really dislike the screen shake. Too bad I don't remember what I did in those runs and I wasn't recording.

Two build questions. It seems the answer is yes, but a pnova mancer with budget gear (hoto, vmagi, trangs gloves, no dweb, no infinity) is considered better for the pits than a similarly geared bonemancer correct?

Was thinking about remaking the fishyzon I enjoyed so much. I mainly was trying to turn her to a pit runner, so i missed having a shield when taking on the archer packs with FA. Is LF/PJ better for pits (assuming no infinity)? I wasnt sure if PJ killed fast enough to make it worthwhile or if the general thought is FA is much more powerful so its worth trying to kite and shoot arrows. Some back of the napkin calcs made it look like PJ would be pretty slow, but i figured someone whose played a LF/PJ can give me their thoughts.
