Ouch!

Anybody know what's up with 1.07 jewels of envy? Why is there a range on poison damage? They better or worse than 1.13 envy? Thanks.

Oh ya, forgot it was a range but not in 1.13. I remember being interested in them possibly being marginally better for twinking but whatevs

I'm not sure I fully understand 1.07 and it's Larzuk socket quest. Could you possibly find something like a godly monarch of deflecting and have Larzuk 4 socket it, having something that could dwarf even the legendary JmoD?

Uth,

In principle yes (blue items can be very nice to Larzuk), but it doesn't work with Monarchs specifically because they get a max of 3 sockets in 1.07.

and I think deflecting is worse as well (no fbr?)

He's great for 3os tower shields, though.

So I defeated Baal in Hell with my FO/SF sorc. Was level 67 at the time, ran a bit of Cows and now sitting at lvl 70, running LK.

My next objective is to start a Barbarian, or rather continue, since my lvl 8 barb has been loitering around Rogue Camp, cubing all those sapphires my sorc throws at him. Best effort so far is this beauty. Other fcr/MPK rings have all been sub 20mpk. I guess they'll still have their uses. Managed to get one with 37mpk/2str, so that's something. Ready to move on.

Ok, so the Barb. Plan is to make him WWer, capable of running Hell Council. My sorc has found some nice stuff for him, Arreat's, Vamp Gaze, SoE, Goblin Toe, Rattlecage, This amulet... Only thing that stumps me is the weaponry. I've planned to use Bul Kathos' or Grandfather as an endgame weapons, but I have to find Colossus Blade rack first and those won't help me on low levels anyway. I have collected some rares, but they are all pretty underwhelming. Same thing with couple of crafts I've tried.

I recently racked a dagger in the wishlist of no one ever It hurt a bit, since that really unstable rack occassionally also drops Bone Knives. But looking at it's stats, it's actually quite interesting:
Code:
Spineripper
Poignard
One-Hand Damage: 18 to 54
Durability: 12 of 16
Required Strength: 25
Required Level: 32
Dagger Class - Very Fast Attack Speed
Item Version: Expansion
Item Level: 87
Fingerprint: 0x2c0c547a
+10 to Dexterity
+200% Enhanced Damage
8% Life stolen per hit
15% Increased Attack Speed
Ignore Target Defense
Prevent Monster Heal

I was wondering, could this maybe work as an off-hand weapon, since the 1.07 WW only registers the main hand? Does the PMH work when in offhand. Could this even work on main hand for a while, even though the range is awful?

I dunno, maybe I' grasping at straws here. Shield with resists would be probably better while questing. I recently shopped this, maybe worth a Larzuk? Anyway, I still need something for my main hand. I'm thinking about continuing crafting, so far crafted couple of safety Zweihander but the results were meh. Suggestions are more than welcome.

TL; DR: 1.07 Whirlwind Barb, weapon choices for playing through the game, go!

What does one gamble in 1.07? I guess Amulets and Rings are given, but anything else? Circlets don't really interest me that much due to all the nice headgear I already have.

Except for some few elite crafting bases, I see no reason to gamble anything in 1.07. Maybe rings for the MF possible on blues, but even there they're beaten by the resist ring cube recipes. Rares are straight horrible (+2 all skills is magic only for all gear slots I think) and no set/uniques at all.

Spend your money shopping instead. Magics can get 4 sockets, and there's no reason not to exploit that. Dual poison affix bows with 4 emeralds is great, fast bows with amp and 4 shaels make great merc gear. Very easy to get 4 socket armor of amicae or of the whale, which could only be beaten by crafts. Actually, most shopped items are beaten by crafts, but craft supplies are limited, especially runes and jewels.

yesyesyes, as a quick fix. Better alternative for long-term is safety crafts + 3os because mercs REALLLLY need mdr. Every point matters.

those huge + life armors are nice for nooby merc gear (or char gear) until one can rack skullder's/arkaine's/etc.

I think I used my money to gamble rings/ammies for crafting so that I didn't have to pick them up constantly, but I can't remember.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I'll save my money for shopping for now. I actually have already shopped couple of "of whale" armors.

What level it is best to start rolling the prismatic amulets?
