Re: The Questions Thread

Could someone link the Tao of Poison thread for me? I've tried searching for it, but given that the search doesn't register the words Tao or of, no luck.

I think thats what I mean, thanks Drystan. Tried the Google trick, just brought up the main forum page.

Re: The Questions Thread

I have couple of question that Baal running has made me think:

1. What is the chance that Lister spawns Lightning Immune, that can't be broken with Infinity's Conviction?

2. If I want to find out the chance of certain failed set/unique item where should I look? For example I would like to find out the odds of getting failed set Unearthed Wand from Baal with 0% MF?

Re: The Questions Thread

@ Dragonlover

Be aware that they already fixed the "poison duration of mixed toxins when delivered by ranged means". To put it succintly, mixed toxins poison duration by melee and ranged is equal now. Everything else in Tao of Poison is up to date.

@ Dacar- I am currently almost done with a re-do of the Tao of Poison- updating the older info with the new 1.11b info. I will let you know when I am almost done so you can tell me the proper protocol for submitting it.

Maybe it's worth chatting with him? [Source]

Also, this is what I got when searching google for the site followed by key words, if you're interested. Not sure why you only got the main forum site.

Re: The Questions Thread

Breaking immunities work at only 20% of its effectiveness. Meaning -52% all resists is only removing -10% all resists of an immune monster. If that monster is for example has 100% LR then you break it into 90% LR. To answer your question, LR like yours will break all immune monsters with resistance 109% and below.

So I guess it would be smart to put 3 hard points in LR rather than 1. This way it will become -55% resists, so -11% of a immune monster. I thought that monsters didn't have 109% resist, but 110%, am I right? So I will be able to break a lot more immunities with -55%?

I believe so, blizzard doesn't like odd number.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't remember the answer.

Does effect of Sanctuary aura stack with other effect?

eg. item gives Sanctuary, and you also have Conviction aura (will be my setup for anti-undead). Will undead resistant to be set to 0, then lowered by conviction? Will Decrepify be more effective against undead with sanctuary?

If he gets LE he'll always be unbreakable LI because of the he is always spectral hit too i think.Only exception is when he gets PI too(because of stone skin, not sure).Would be nice if get someone smart like RTB to clear this:p

Sanctuary only effects physical resistance. It will set it to 0 for undead. Conviction doesn't effect physical resistance, only cold/fire/lightning. I don't think that decrep from reapers will further lower the physical resistance of Pi's that have been set to 0 by your sancruary. but i could be wrong about the last point.

Re: The Questions Thread

Thanks, I wasn't sure if Sanctuary has affect on elemental resistant.

Which one count first? Sanctuary or Decrepify? Either way, I don't understand how the final resistant was calculated. If Decrepify first, and it is perfectly understandable PI undead will have 0 physical resistant. But what about none PI? Say undead has 30% physical resistant, decrepify will lower it to -20%. What will sanctuary do then. I hope it doesn't set to 0, that will suck.

If sanctuary first, decrepify should take resistant further down.

Or I completely misundertood everything?

Re: The Questions Thread

I think it will set it to 0. But where's RTB when you need him. Ohh, and you are aware that the +% damage to undead from sanctuary doesn't work? Basically it's just a one point wonder.

I'm fully aware of it. it is pretty much a pre-req for me, for hard point. I only use it with item for the knock back and "break" undead PI affect.

Re: The Questions Thread

Decrep/Amp goes first, and if the final physical resist after that is above 0, it is set to 0, when under the effects of Sanctuary.

Re: The Questions Thread

Do superior armor with +x% enhanced defense have the same ridicilous repair costs as superior weapons do? Or is it related to increased maximum durability and not the ED%?

(edit) nvm, did some searching and found an answer.

Oh bugger. Ah well, it was only an outside chance I'd be doing it anyway. Also, I'm assuming that when you craft an item it doesn't change the stats required to wear it, just the level?

It could roll -% requirements and the stats could go down, but afaik not up at all

Re: The Questions Thread

Ok, got a bit of a problem... I've killed the Ancients, gone into WSK and ended up with my corpse in a corner surrounded by boss packs, no way I'll get it back. My question is this: if I save and exit, will I have to kill the Ancients again?
