I believe it does, it should effect all elemental damage, even that of mercenaries or allies by decreasing enemies resistances, rather than say, making your attacks alone get past it.

There used to be a large thread somewhere that gave pricing guidelines for every item, although I think it was designed with Online D2 in mind. Has anyone made a singleplayer version by any chance, given that single player has a more stable economy, and prices won't inflate as the guide is being written?

Does Lower Resist (Curse) affect elemental damage from a bow?
Lower Resist lowers fire/cold/lightning/poison res of monsters. If you hit a LR cursed monster with any kind of elemental/poison damage the lowered resistances are going to be used for final damage calculations yes.

Now my D2 question: how exactly holy shield and item (eg. GA) "increase chance of block" work? Does the increased chance added after shield block chance calculation or before? It seem to me that holy shield add before the calculation. I was very disappointed.

Trust me, no one wants a green hat. It is bad, really bad. A hat can be any color but green. Just in case you don't know, the term "green hat" has a very special meaning in Chinese. It means your gf/wife cheated/is cheating/has been cheating on you. The greener it is, the worse the cheating is. Often it is considered one of the worst insult.

Maybe someone at blizzard didn't like the color? or maybe, the person who thought "let it be green" got cheated. I never put anything green on my main character head, ever.

Ok, so i'm running pindleskin for Griffon's/Shadow Dancer. On atma it says he'll drop a diadem/myr greaves 1:683 runs and a griffons/shadow every 1:24647 at MF 333. I divide 24647 by 683 and gives me 36... that means ill get a unq diadem every 36 diadems pindle drops, right?

Also shadows, griffons, steel rend and crown of ages are all same chance to drop, ie 1:25000 does that mean i should get at least 2 or 3 in that many runs rather than 1 of each in 100k runs?

im just trying to gauge an estimate if i do ~200 runs per day. Pindle hasnt dropped any sort of diadem in a good 1300 runs so im getting worried...

Try not to think to much in the drop probability. It will drive you insane for the more rare uniques. Fact is, i found 14 unique tc87 armours (diadems, myrmidion greaves, ogre gauntlets, sacred armors and corona's) before i found a crown of ages.

Instead try to see the drop probability as some kind of ranking on the 'rarity' scale of items. The probabilities don't mean anything until you do hundred thousands or millions of runs. 1:25k means on average. You might end up doing 100k runs without finding this particular item, and then suddenly finding three in a row.

Absolutely not. Those numbers suggest that a diadem dropped by Pindle has ~1/36 chance of being a unique. But it doesn't say anything about the amount of unique diadems you'll actually find, or when you'll find them. The whole "multiply chance by number of attempts to get expected value" is a tool for approximating complicated statistical problems. It is not a way to convert chance into cold, hard amounts. Even a rather vague statement such as "the more diadems Pindle drops, the more likely it becomes that 1 in 36 of them is unique" is stretching things.

Take Jae's advice: don't think about odds, but focus on the goodies he does drop. And never forget Rule #1: you always get screwed over. Or, more specific to MF'ing, you never get what you're looking for.

Question. I recall that there was a bug relating to Enhanced Damage/+ max damage jewels when socketed in armor, shields or helms. How exactly did the bug work and do + minimium Jewels work normally?

Both mindamage and maxdamage + %enhanced damage are bugged. Basically if you socket one of those in a piece of armor, the +%ed only applies to your mindamage or maxdamage (depends if the other mod was mindamage or maxdamage) instead of being applied to your total damage.

Thanks Jaed and Muzz.. i was tired and i didnt word that right. Yeah i shouldnt expect a certain unique esp the rare stuff, cause ill probably end up dissapointed... hope i dont get too many duplicates of steel rends and coas before hand.

ANother simple question is there some way to mute the start up music for d2 without hitting mute on all sounds. The sounds im referring to are after you do run and quit. There so outta proportion with the in-game music and i tend to use headphones. I kinda doubt it, but its worth a try.

Do you mean the sound of the blizzard intro? You can add -skiptobnet to your shortcut to avoid that screen. If you mean the music of the player mode menu, you can just push CTRL+M.

if I want to shop for a double modded light armor and then socket it for 4 sockets in 1.07, how/where are my best shots?
Something like *single resist* wire fleece of the whale? :P is there any other useful prefixes avaliable on armors?

You options are really limited to single resist or godly (ed%). As to where to look I'd be tempted to try and rack one. I had a godly wyrmhide of amice (?) 15 DR anyway that I always planned to try and get four holes in.

Why not shopping? I know of the whale can spawn in hell act 5, possibly earlier, and single resists should be possible as well?

I know Immunities can be broken with LR. I also know the -resist will receive a penalty. But I cannot remember what penalty.
With +skills, my lower resist provides -52%, what immunes can be broken?

Breaking immunities work at only 20% of its effectiveness. Meaning -52% all resists is only removing -10% all resists of an immune monster. If that monster is for example has 100% LR then you break it into 90% LR. To answer your question, LR like yours will break all immune monsters with resistance 109% and below.
