thanks stephan. And yes, I'd need to hit with that weapon and still have 5% chance to cast that amp. Now that I'm thinking of it, quite useless because I don't have any dex, so I won't hit that often anymore.

What's hotmuling?

EDIT: Also, is it alright if I make my HotO in a Superior Flail? I hear the repair cost is vile, but I really won't be swinging it much. How big is that cost and how often do I need to repair it with a caster? Haven't got that Pul yet, so I'll keep my eyes open for another Flail, but in case I don't find one.

What's hotmuling?

Hotmuling is the process of muling items off a character into an ATMA stash *while* you're still playing. Mainly used for Gheeds, which you can only carry one of, but may be used if you want to mule stuff and free up space but don't want to end your session. This is how it works

1) Alt+Tab or hit Windows to get out of D2, open up your character in ATMA. Mule the item(s) you want off to a stash
2) Go back to Diablo 2. Here is the important bit: take the item(s) you just transferred to a stash and throw them on the ground and never touch them again, or in any other way benefit from them. If you're playing with others, make sure they don't take them or benefit from them either. From the moment you moved the item to a stash in ATMA what you essentially did was create a dupe, as one version exists in a stash, and one exists on your character right now. Now you're just dumping the original item and getting rid of it. It might be obvious, but I may as well state it as well: this does *not* work in reverse. You can't mule items on to your character mid-game, if you tried, you'd end up losing the copy from ATMA you tried to mule as D2 would auto-save over the character file containing it with the one you're playing right now that isn't holding it.

So long as you're smart about it, you should be fine, but the potential is there to accidenatly create duped items, so be careful.

Honestly, probably makes no difference. Its technically best to make it in an ethereal flail for the lower dex requirement, and the same idea applies: just never, ever swing it and you'll be fine. Change your left-click to something other than attack to avoid doing it accidentaly as well.

Don't worry about the base weapon, you will find gozillion of them. HoTO is for caster, which you should never ever need to swing it at all.

Amp lowers physical resistance and War Cry is physical damage, so yes it works. Of course you would need to smack stuff in the head with the weapon first to trigger the amp.
Are you sure about that they work together? sicne they are both "icons over the head" (my definition of curses :grin:) and they tend to override each other...

Anyway it's very itneresting that zerk does work in vamp form :shocked:

Maybe you are thinking of Battle Cry? Stun swirlies are not a curse. Neither are the conversion swirlies for that matter. A monster can be stunned, cursed and converted at the same time.

How would rlvl be calculated?
The alvl is correct, it's just that there is no real correlation between alvl and rlvl.

Link to an excellent affix calculator which also displays rlvl for all affixes.

hi everyone, i got a question that can be asked 2 ways. How large compared to a D2 screen in windows mode are static field's "yards"? or, at what level will it cover the entire screen.

Heres the chart from the arreat summit:

well, a yard should be a yard, no matter what skill, so the real question is how do you tell how much a yard is-

one easyish way to tell would be to make a charachter that uses a yarded spell, such as holy fire, and test it out. or pick an aura that shows up on the LCS, (i think might, blessed aim, defiance, etc) and MP with another charachter and test how far out it goes...

someone will probably have screenies that would be more apt to answer your question.

Q: If you break a Cold Immune's immunity with conviction/LR, are then able to chill/freeze them? Arreat Summit's monster pages lists most CI monsters as having non-0 Chill effectiveness, so I'm pretty sure it makes sense that they could after being broken, but you never know.
