Is it true that the drops for Hell Pindle DO NOT change with different players settings? So, for the safety of my hardcore characters, I can run him at players 1 and get the same drops I would at players 8?

Yes. Super Unique monsters only drop two items and the usual pile of potions, no matter what the player setting. However, a higher player setting will affect the drops of Pindel's minions.

Been playing Diablo II LoD for a while now, but new to this awesome forum. My question is - 'My merc uses an infinity polearm which gives him level 12 conviction aura. Is there a way to increase this level? For instance, if I drop my Enigma on him, will the +2 to all skills mod improve his conviction level?

This may have been posted + answered earlier, so please bear with me, and show me that thread, and I shall delete my question if that is possible. Thanks !

You have 'Infinity' and 'Enigma'? o.O.

Anything with + x to All Skills should affect the aura.

EDIT: Yea, Naab is right. I got that confused with the mercenary's actual aura. Sorry.

AFAIK all skills unfortunatly doesnt add to the skill lvl.Else Dreamadins could get like lvl 50 holy shock.

Yeah it's a good guide, but just like the other 2 guides in the ama stickies, it's more of a psn/lf javazon that uses the occasional GA as a finishing move for the low hp characters, I was more thinking about how I would tweak my gear to be more balanced between the javatree skills and actually dealing damage with a bow, I'd even prefer going more towards the bow side and use psnjavas as a secondary attack, or just an extra attack for versiality.

edit: I first thought about bulding her completely as a pure bowazon, and just throw 40 pts in the java's, but with the typical psychical bowazon gear, I first of all think my javaside would suck really hard(both offensively and defensively), and the psnjavas would deal pretty low damage without any +skills or the like, the problem with my last psn/bowa was taht her bow side didnt deal any damage, it was just a finisher (and even then, I found bouncing LF towards the enemy or bouncing it off a summon or wall was more effective), and I didn't like that.

Any tips? :hide:

Zarfen: Good luck balancing that out. My javazon is in Act 5 Hell right now, untwinked, and her PJ is at level 26 right now. Does pretty decent damage. I'm trying to get it up to 30ish where it should be much more effective. I keep a wand with Lower Resist on switch. Balancing bows and poison is tough.

I realise I cannot utilise both sides to their maximum, that's not possible, it's like trying to make the ultimate zealot in the same paladin as the ultimate hammerdin

You could always just adjust as you go along. =P. You'll probably have a lot of strength anyway (Stormshield T_T), so I don't see any sudden changes in gear requiring a remake of your character. You could even write the ultimate PJ/bow guide when you're done. ahaha. ^^.

Why do the + to max damage charms have such high level reqs on them?

When upgrading a low quality armor to a normal quality armor using the cube recipe (EL + chipped gem + low quality armor) it resets the item level to 1, regardless of the starting item level. With this formula, can I use the cube to take a low quality necro head [see example below], cube it with the recipe, and it spawn with +3 mods (like raise skeleton, skeleton mastery, etc)? And if so, can I then use the quest to get 2 sockets in it (with an item level of 1)?

Example:
Low Quality Overseer Skull
Defense: 99
Chance to Block: 28%
Smite Damage: 0 to 0
Durability: 4 of 6
(Necromancer Only)
Required Strength: 91
Required Level: 49

ZARFEN: Obviously, you're going to need to balance your resists with +all skills to make this build effective. Lemme think about this. If you wanna do this "right" I'd maybe put 40 into the poison javs and the rest into the bow tree. Do a combo poison/physical or something? OK, that said, this balancing act may be possible, as multishot and strafe both have zero synergies. This would even let you drop 20 into a valk... anyways, some quick gear recommendations that could make this work.

Bow: You're on your own... whatever works best for your build.

Jav Weapon: Anything with +skills will work, as these only need to be active for your jav throwing obviously. My poison javer is just using some rare +2 amazon skill / replenish quantity stuff I gambled.

Jav Shield: A lot of stuff works fine, depending on your means, your charms (need strength!) and your other gear. Obviously, a Spirit shield is ideal for the +2 skills, but that needs a mighty buff amazon to hold! I'm using Rhyme right now. Sigons with a diamond works well. I have a KO KO MAL ready to put into a shield when I find the right one because I need res, but if you can afford to have +skills then they help.

Now we're getting into things shared between your two setups... you want stats, res and skills.

Helm: Lore works great. You get a skill and you get resistance out of it. Gambling circlets is an easy way to get a +1 amazon skills with some res. Really, if you run the hellforge a few times, Delirium isnt that hard to make, and aside from the fact that there isnt any res its nice to have.

Amulet: Gamble and identify all magic ammys. I had a +1 amazon skills prismatic magic amulet I used until I found a similar rare one that had dex and some other stats on it.

Armor: You could always make Peace, which is +2 and has cold res. I mean, there are certainly better choices. I'm a fan of Lionheart for amazons since it gives so many stats and solid res, despite no skills. There are plenty of uniques though that have the coveted +1 on it to boost that poison damage and still offer res.

Belt: I mostly recommend rares here. As nice as it is to be decked out in +skills items, Arachnid Mesh isnt really that great for you in my opinion. Find a nice rare with some res and +strength.

Gloves: Cant go wrong with +2 jav skill rares here. I'm wearing some simple rare +2 jav, +30 fire, +5 poison right now. It fits my build and fills the fire hole I had.

Boots: Res!!! Alternately I suppose you could wear the IK belt, boots and gloves and get some nice bonuses, but you lose out on skills and more resistance that you could use.

Rings: Ravenfrost is nice but not key. I try to find prismatic rings and pick up a bunch of res there.

I always appreciate peoples opinions, but I will not do this untwinked, I will not be on a too tigth budget and I am tweakign it for pvp :wink3:

My thoughts on some of your gear tips:
For java switch, I don't really know how I'll hit anythign better than titans/stormshield, titans has nice +skills, replinish and etc. while SS is not too hard to reach max block with, it has 35% dr and nice resists, hard to pass up and imo not worth the +2 skills from spirit.

I'm actually more concerned about other mods than +skilsl on my other gear, I have not really good idea on what hat I will plan on, since I can't check my rare stashes now.
Amu: The cat's eye has 30 frw and 20 ias, and I don't know if I can pass that, i will need to reach ABSOLUTELY MINIMUM 90 ias bp on bow switch, and unless you can teleport in pvp, you need to run :grin:
CBF is kinda mandatory for pvp, so 1 raven is set in stone, but other than that idk.

As I said I've got a pair of +3jav/20ias gloves, a rare pair of +2/20/resists or stats would be nicerm but what can I expect :tongue:

As for armor, trechery is a great armor for an amazon, no doubt, but I think there's better, but I'll am very unsure here, will look in 1.07 for some nice magical armors once I reach hell (to socket and put jewels in)

Boots: a nice pair with frw and resists would really be nice, but wt's added damage does make difference...

Gee I have filled up this "small Q thread" quite alot with this already, I'll make a new thread for it alone once I get serious about planning.

My gear intentions really lacks resists, but I don't want to put all effort into resists, as I will need power as well...

Vendungos belt is also almost unbeatable in my eyes, I'm sitting on a 15/37+ one that will help alot for survival.

argh, I'm too tired, gotta sleep, no more amazon thining, stop... thinking... about... gear....

Yeah, good luck man!... I dont do PvP in this game (my competitive game is Tekken!) so thats on you haha. I'm not entirely familiar with what it takes to tweak a PvP amazon. Best of luck though, PM me if you dont end up making a thread about it, I'm eager to see what you'd do.

QUESTION OF MY OWN:
If I make, say, Doom, and put it on my Frost Zealot (level 25 Holy Freeze), what happens with the auras? Does the high one override? Do they switch back and forth? It sucks, because the -% cold res is massive, but it comes with its own aura. If anyone knows the answer to this type of case (I assume this would apply to all natural aura VS item aura cases) I would loooove to know. Thanks!

Does anyone know how/if the vampireform from trangs set influence the attackspeed of a necro? I know it screws over the castspeed, but how about the attackspeed? And will vengeance from kingslayer work in vampireform?

Sorry, no straight answear, but I doubt vengence will work in vamp form, since it doesn't work while under any other "shift of shape".

I hope someon e proves me wrong though, it's a twisted and silly idea taht would make an awsome build :laugh:

Can't give you an exact answer here either but i can say it definitely does screw with your attack speed. I wanted to make a Trangs poison dagger necro and go round poking stuff in vampire form — it didn't work well!

Answer to this question is.... YES! Evidence, test did with my poison trangmancer and cryptic sword kingslayer from my frenzybarb.

To the real reason of my coming to this thread:

War Cry and Amplify damage? I found one weapon with my hc singer that has ctc amp (can't use it, because of dex req), so does it work? Just want to be sure before I try to shop a weapon with lower req :smiley:

Amp lowers physical resistance and War Cry is physical damage, so yes it works. Of course you would need to smack stuff in the head with the weapon first to trigger the amp.
