Re: The Questions Thread

I want to upgrade from 1.10 RRM to 1.11 RRM/RWM.. will any issues arise? Also i just install the 1.11 patch then install the mod again?

Re: The Questions Thread

Quick question:

I brought an etheral 1.07 armor forward to 1.10s and socketed it with the cube, but it didnt't get the extra defense bonus like I thought it would. Is it because it's an 1.07 armor? Or because the cube bug isn't there in 1.10s? Or something else? Thanks.

That specific cube bug isn't there in 1.10s, or even final 1.10

In 1.10, if you upgraded a unique eth armor you lost the eth bonus. In 1.11 blizzard "fixed" that by adding the eth bonus back into a basic cube-item alteration function. As it happens, the socketing function uses that same item-altering function so in 1.11 you get the extra eth bonus when socketing eth items.

Re: The Questions Thread

Thanks jjscud.

Next question. Does Duress work in 1.10s? Want to make sure since I can't find a list of runewords and I'd hate to waste an Um in a gemmed body armor.

It is in the list of runewords at Arreat Summit.

Re: The Questions Thread

No, Duress wasn't available in 1.10 SP at all. Those who used RWM in 1.10 often added it in but it wasn't part of the final 1.10 release.

Are you sure?
Both me and Arreat summit think that it was actually avaliable in 1.10. I think one of my friends made it back then.. I absolutely don't know about 1.10s, but i think it was in 1.10 final..

Anyway, i have a problem: I finished NM meph with my sorc, it was first kill, but i couldn't pick up soulstone, because i had normal soulstone in stash.. So i thought (:duh:) that he will drop it again next time i kill him, since i never picked it up, , but it didn't. I got rid of the normal soulstone back in normal, went back to nm meph, and i got nothing!

So, the question is: Can i somehow get back that soulstone? Anyhow? Or i have to skip nm forge?

Re: The Questions Thread

No problem, if you talk to Cain in act IV without having done the HF quest, you get a new soulstone from him.

I'm under the impression that you don't even need the soulstone, that just clicking on the forge without the quest puts one in the smashy spot. I don't know that I've ever actually grabbed the soulstone.

Either that or you can talk to Deckard in the fortress.

Re: The Questions Thread

Hey guys... I have a question or two regarding Energy Shield sorcs.

I can only reach somewhere between 80 and 85 percent ES with my best setup. Is PDR/MDR still the right way to go? I figure a really hard hit in Hell could deal up to 600 damage. That's 90 PDR/MDR. At that point, are PDR and MDR still much more effective than %DR and resists? I only ask because it's much easier to find items with %DR and resists than PDR and MDR.

Thanks.

The damage that gets reduced by PDR and MDR isn't actually the final damage you take (eg amount of life you lose) rather it is the monsters base damage I believe.

Have about 100 PDR is enough to negate most physical attacks even without ES.

You probably only need about 20 PDR and 20MDR if you can get to an 80-85% ES I guess.

(I'm working on a sorc with ES at the moment but haven't done any testing yet so this is just my general feeling more than anything scientific so I could be completely wrong. Might be able to say more accurately by tomorrow, though I'm sure someone else would have answered by then!)

Re: The Questions Thread

A rare eth item found in 1.07, brought forward to 1.11b and then upgraded in 1.11b.
Will the upgraded item maintain the 1.07 eth bonus?

I have no reason to believe it shouldn't, other than maybe the item get's a new eth property or get's 'remade' to a new item with a new 'eth', so the good 1.07 eth is lost and it gets a 1.11b eth instead.

Crazy conspiration theories, I know, but I wanted to be sure before I even though about starting to craft->imbue hax my eth dimentional blade in 1.07.

Re: The Questions Thread

Crafting an eth. weapon makes it non eth. To bad though. Imbueing lets it remain etherial.

Re: The Questions Thread

heyy!!

How does vengeance work? what is the procentage calculated on? is it on the base damage of the weapon?

if my sword does 10-20 dmg and i use vengeance add 100% elemental, does this mean 10-20 fire, lightining and cold is added? Or is it calculated on the elemental damage the weapon does?

It's based on the weapon's physical damage - so yes, ED on weapons does count, too, but not +damage modifiers. Auras won't add more elemental damage either, IIRC.

So, in your example, the weapon would deal
10-20 physical damage
10-20 fire damage
10-20 lightning damage
10-20 cold damage.

If the weapon had +100%ED, it would do
20-40 physical damage
20-40 fire damage
20-40 lightning damage
20-40 cold damage.

Damage bonus from ethereal items counts towards elemental damage, too btw. So eth Oath weapon FTW!

EDIT: Also, I believe the LCS is doing just that in the case of Vengeance: lying.

Re: The Questions Thread

Oh crap :undecided:
Thanks jae.

Anyway, if I imbue a white one(or well, non-magical, non-socketed gray, non-sup) eth one, and get a nice eth dimentional blade, and then apply the same question to that?

Re: The Questions Thread

Is there a convenient way to transfer items between SP characters? I tried open bnet, and managed to lose a skin o the vipermagi (to which I was angered). I got some other stuff I'd like to move around, but I don't wanna risk losing it.
