Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

Anyways hope you're doing well!
I am doing okay, a lot better now than back in the days. Still not 100% great though.
Would be better if you just wrote "I have missed you" and not the other stuff.
Its like "Hey I have not seen you since you got into prison" or similar.
But he deleted that account too like a year ago. Must have wanted to make a clean break.
Yeah I found an e-mail in my trash can that my discord account was marked for automatic deletion.

You know I am in here, no need in speculating.

Sorry man didn’t mean anything by it, missed you and glad to hear from you! Second message was referring to art vandelay who also replied! Fun to be back and hear from the old faces!

I usually put enought points in stats to be able to equip my gear at any time. I just switched some gear on my pally and noticed this (for me) mildly interesting behaviour as I no longer have enough of strength to equip my gear from naked state:

To have an equipment piece equipped after loading in to the game one needs at minimum the equal amount of points in stats required by the equipment piece subtracted with the stats the equipment piece grants. This applies only to the equipment piece with lowest requirements.

In the picture I have just loaded into the game. I have 74 hard points in strength and no other items than equipped (than HoZ) or any item in stash give any strength. Hoz requires 89 strength so it enables itself to be equipped.

At the time I kept a Crushflange (+15str) in cube and equipped it temporarily to enable the rest of the gear to be equipped. I just leveled up and put 1 point in strength and now everything is equipped at start:

95 str with Hoz -> Wartravs requiring 95 str equipped (+10 str) -> 105 total str, Coh Archon requiring 103 str equipped -> 125 str total, both Thundergods requiring 110 str and Guillaume's requiring 115 str equipped -> 160 str total.

What is the big deal? Well I thought one needed the exact amount of points in stats that is the requirement of an item to be equipped at start but apparently not.

When I now unequip HoZ and exit and start game I still need the Chrushflange to get everything equipped as without Hoz there is not enough strength to wear HoZ. This trick must also be needed in sad hypothetic case of corpse retrival.

Just respecced my sorc with good LK map to get gear for 200 fcr. Forgot my usual 1 point in Frozen armour. This was bad and good:
- now teleporting into a pack is more dangerous and needs to be avoided
- not needing the extra cast (as I can't :) ) at run start feels good.

To the point then. Did 15+ runs with no issues, but then suddenly monsters were spawning inside the huts. Started paying more attention to this and seems that if I keep my route just a bit south of the first hut then I meet no packs in the huts. Is this something that is real or am I imagining things? (Too few runs to deduce anything myself)

@SirName There is a long discussion over the correct teleport path for doing Trav runs. So it stands to reason that there would also be one for doing LK runs.

Crystal as a raw material.

Where does it come from? The worldstonemine?

How are swords manufactured from this material? Something like cutting diamonds?

How does crystal break when used and how is it repaired? Glue pieces back on?

Why are only swords made of this material?
I mean I’m sure there would be a market for indestructable Phaseplates.

They are grown and repaired in the same crystal bath used to create them. Ever grow crystals as a kid?

At least they get used. Does anyone even use Mythical swords? Maybe that's why they are called mythical as they don't exist in the real world!

I also discovered that sanctuary aura from lawbringer/azurwrath makes magic immune undeads take magic damage from berserk skill. It is same mechanic as making dragon tail not work against physical immunes? The damage is being converted on hit.
Tested in LOD. Berserked first without Lawbringer an then with one equipped: no difference, both setups do nothing against the magic immune undead in Lost City. Sounds like a D2R bug to me.

PS. Does Dragon Tail by any chance work against PI's in D2R? I mean without Lawbringer.

@SirName The following is from Maxick's TS/DT guide:

The important thing to note from the sequence above is that the fire damage is dependent on your applied physical damage. And this is one of the criticisms of Dragon Tail – It suffers from two immunities. Fire immunes and Physical immunes take no damage. This is only partly true. Fire immunes take no damage from the fire damage, but if you target a FI with DTail, it will be damaged by the physical part of the kick. If you target a PI, it will take neither fire nor physical damage. Nor will anything else in the area of effect for that matter. But any PIs in the area of effect when you target a non PI enemy will get the full fire damage.

This also is true in D2R. I recently completed this build in D2R with a Lawbringer and it wasn't till Decrepify spawned that damage was done against the PI. However, attacking a monster next to the PI did do damage

It's unrelated to Dragon Tail and just how Sanctuary aura functions.
I equipped my blizzard sorc with Azurewrath, took off her Cold Rupture Sunder, and took a couple of swings at CS Oblivion Knights and they were chilled despite being cold immune, so I'm guessing the cold damage on Azurewrath is doing damage. However, her cold spells didn't do any damage, so it seems to be melee only. A while back, I heard a rumor about Sanctuary ignoring all resistances of undead, not just physical, but wasn't sure if that was true.

@SirName

Yes, Sanctuary aura is bugged on D2R since Patch 2.4
  • Fixed an issue where Sanctuary aura was not granting its bonus damage to Undead
It ignores all resistances of undead from attacks and spells that carry physical damage in addition to elemental damage*.

Quite a bug! Many skills on that list are not possible to use as afaik you can only get Sanctuary from Azurewrath/Lawbringer and need to self wield to reap any benefit.

Nevertheless quite useful weapon switch for something like tesladin. Good bye gloam problems. Rabies druid is glad too even though it is only for direct hits.
