City Mafia Game Thread

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

I'm sure I wrote a post saying that we need to talk more....stupid internet >.<

Anyway a passive town is a dead town and this town is very passive, as has been said we need a lynch else, we're not going to get any information at all.

Vote: Asrrin

I'll check back later and see what's what.

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

You quoted your own proof. You and Sathoris obviously "know" something the rest of us don't, i.e. that there should have been two deaths last night. Though you used the words "most likely" where as Sathoris made a definitive statement, and not merely an opinion. Hence why I preferred to vote him over you.

I also told you yesterday that I was purposefully keeping low key on day one, because I was really upset about getting lynched out of the blue. Now that I've been able to survive a night, see whats going on, and help take part in discussions, I'm ok with posting more.

I do find Bad Ash and Sath being so sure there exists a SK somewhat disconcerting, but it seems suspicious to me that overnight your attitude on how to play would change so drastically, and for that:

Vote: Asrrin

Although Sath right now is my second choice based off of this "midwestern voting block" With Gambors reply he could change his it seems more likely that they are just flavor.

Caluin Graye confirmed that a SK needed to kill the first night.

So do we have 1 serial killer and zero mafia??? We also have a one shot vigilante.

What is there to "know"? These are basic mafia game stuff, not sure how the only explanation for thinking we avoided two kills is "know something we dont" everyone in this game knows as much as I do on this subject if they are reading the posts.

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

For everyone, I have a general question. I have read the host's posts, but since I didn't see this stated anywhere, I feel I have to ask (sorry if it's a given or I missed it): Does the Mafia team automatically has the ability to kill players every night? I ask because if the answer is "No", then we could be looking at more scum than usual.

Goryani's "Looking at the vote history, something seems off to me. Why no votes?":
I have the feeling most players took the selfish approach to choosing roles that would keep them safer, I know I did; therefore, I'm taking a more discerning approach in this game. Nevertheless, if there is one vote missing for a lynch, the phase is about to end, I'm online, and have suspicions about the targeted individual being mafia. I will vote to attain a lynch. Remember, though, that in this game, the lynch gets lock easier, or more inadvertently, than usual.

Bad Ash's "Caluin Graye confirmed that a SK needed to kill the first night":
Where does he say that? I searched for all of Caluin's post (using search function) but couldn't find it.

Sathoris' "Then you mumble the Lynch all liars rule which holds no value whatsoever so far":
I feel like I should elaborate: What I meant is that I think there are two contradicting possibilities regarding people's play styles in this game, both of which depend on the mafia. They will be either extra aggressive due to poor luck in roles, or very passive, or relaxed, if the odds played in their favor. "Lynch all liars" is theoretically the most successful way to chose targets for lynching, until someone finds clues regarding others (e.g. cop reveals). There are several players who have, more than once, taken other's post and manipulated that information in order to have a finger to point to. Whether this was intentionally to provoke discussion or out of despair, is yet to be seen.

Finally, Do you think cities and states are anything more than flavor? I have rudimentary knowledge about United States' geography and relative involvement of cities regarding the country (go google!), but either way, I'm Phoenix, AZ... if that means anything to anyone, good for you.

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

Damn it all, when I realize grammar mistakes after I've posted, I want to throw the laptop out of the window...

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

Aah, by the time i get to phoenix, she'll be rising. He'll probably leave a note right on the door.

Arizona doesn't help me.

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

Lol thanks zemaj. I too don't want a bf, as my swing heads towards gfs (which, the lady in talking to is almost back home:loving:

Curious if anyone wants to come out with some results from last nights actions. I realize it was only n1 and this is d2, but all we've done is speculate.

Who's to actually say that kegs was the one targeted last night, yaknow? There's always that chance that the BD stitched someone.

If y'all wanted, I'm game for just going down the list and lynchingplayers that way :badteeth:

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

Before sending in a pick, I asked questions about various roles. I think it's best to share that info:
The treestump is activated by claiming. After claiming, the treestump is considered a dead player that can post from the grave. If a treestump claims before the end of D1, the number of players alive will drop to 16 and the lynch numbers will change.
The SK gets a kill the first night. The SK HAS to kill the first night.
The restless spirit vote from beyond the grave is a public vote posted in the forums like any normal vote.
The double voter can choose not to use the double vote (vote singly).

I guess there is a chance that this could be a lie, but I don't suspect that it is. why would it be? It would be a tactic i've never seen before. This is also a good "make them think I am townie" post by goryani. Do I think we should lynch gory? No, but it might be best to keep an eye on him

I have been going off of this post, that is said to be straight from CGs mouth regarding the night kills. So those who think I "know something they dont" are you stating Goryani is lieing? Or did you just miss this post?

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

Vote: Asrrin

As stated previously, by myself and others, he has been acting weird and has made quite a few mistakes, which is not Asrrin-like at all.

I should be around before the end of the day phase to switch votes if needed.

Yes, I obviously believe that the most obvious reason we only had one kill was we have no mafia. But in seriousness, again with the last post, you seem 100% convinced there is a SK and that we avioded his kill, when an an alternate and at the moment more likely story to me is there is not one.

You keep focusing on the cities. Did you pick the alternate win condition?

Doesn't actually state that mafia have a kill power. Possible that they don't, but I would be very suprised by this. As for the SK, I think it was Gory who mentioned that he asked CG if the SK would need to kill every night, and CG replied yes. I think he is likely telling the truth about this.

I never once said "yay we missed a SK kill!" I said we avoided a kill. By whos hand I have no idea and never claimed such knowledge. As to why I believe the issue, read post #237 including the quote. Not sure it needs to be posted a third time.

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

However, you did not vote on Day One.

You qualify as a liar.

You only have four posts so far.

You qualify as a lurker.

Vote: Valhauros

Hypocritical scum.

Asrrin has 6 votes.

Val has 1 vote.

We need 9 votes for a lynch.

We have 5 hours left.

You're not even voting to attain a lynch....

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

Why, of course! It will be easier to keep track of what number we're on

any who... Not at the top of the list, but top of the vote count

Vote: Asrrin

Re: City Mafia Game Thread

I guess I should vote based on BadAsh's (and others) feelings...

Unvote: Valhauros

Vote: Asrrin

I'm gonna go ask the Wizard for a brain...
