Yet another "legit" exploit discovered - cheesy gold earning

Not long. Probably somewhere before filling a quarter of town b.net would end your connection and flag your account. I know some people who got their accounts disabled in the beggining of ladder for a abusive 1 gold coin dropping in town. Constantly gold droping person send packets to server that are somewhat similar to those (or more likely their sequence) who try to execute denial of service attack. So just a little warning with dropping too much gold, especially now that this gold exploit discovered and more people are "poping" gold from npc's without picking it up.
I was involved in that. Although our game didn't disconnect, we only got to 75% of town before getting bored and giving up to lag. When there is enough gold to fill 1 screen, the game starts to lag bad and patches of the gold will "dissapear". The gold still exists on the ground but because of lag, the game won't display them.

My gain from this fiasco was perfecting the art of running around a gold covered town without accidentally picking up a piece of gold.

Hmm, what did I miss? Are we only against cheats when they are officially being called "cheats" now all of a sudden?

This isn't a cheat. This is part of the game's system.
That is exactly my point.

So is pindlebotting, except you automate and mass produce packets in a specific system/order*

Pindlebotting is done by utilizing third party software and it is clearly stated in eula that usage of third party programs with diablo 2 client is bannable abuse ie "cheating". You can't compare the two because they are 2 very different things. Like administrative offense and criminal offense IRL.

It paid off

This is my 2nd night of taking advantage of this loophole in the game and it finally paid off. I gambled a Rare necro coronet:

Rune Horn Coronet
def:37
dur:30
req lvl: 67
+2 necro skills
+20% faster caste rate
+9 min damage
6% mana leech
+13 all resist
+2 light radius

I took a screen shot but couldn't find anywhere to post it up

I am currently using a grinding ciquedus? of gore 17k profit per sell anyway iam looking for one that sells around 23k or 24k if you have one i offer an mid lvl rune of choice. Thanks

One pit run nets me 150K at least. More fun, more experience, chance for goodies.

Can't believe that people actually buy - sell all night long.

I guess it all depends on how fast you click your mouse buttons. 6min=3.2mil with my lvl 93 pally.

Iam still looking for a 23k+ weapon to sell if anyone is willing to trade theirs.

For those people who keep bashing this gold 'earning' method, please try it first. There is no way a cow run or pit run or whatever run that can beat it in pure speed for gold earning.

I take around 5 minutes to get 3M gold buy selling my grinding lance for 35K and buying it back for 10313, just under 25K per transaction. If I can get my hands on either a 14% or 15% Gheeds, I will make over 25K (just using a 13% Gheeds ATM).

Like I said, if they patch this before they do something about all the spam bots or do another maphack scan, I will personally hunt down every last Blizzard employee and devour their souls.

this has already started to affect trading -- if you go to the trade forums (East at least) they are chock full of rare coronets for trade. There was a time when a +2 skills, 20% FCR, prismatic coronet would make you a rich person. that time may still be now, but not for much longer.

What really annoys me is that someone was trying to sell their grinding axe for a PUL rune. HACKED LEET GOLD AXE!!!!!
